    2001 S4 Misfire issue

Hey everyone so i bit the bullet and bought a B5 a few weeks back for a decent price, and some cosmetic issues. One of the problems im having is i noticed at idle the car was misfiring so i ran my scanner and found P0300 and another code for fuel vent valve circuit open? Not sure but I ran the car with the maf unplugged and it still ran like shit and i went through the huge pile of maintenance work and found when the car was stage 3 they used ngk bkre7s and stated they were the correct plug and one of the more current records shows the second owner (i am the third) had plugs and coils done recently and they didnt use the same plugs they changed them to a different type of plugs so later today im going to go buy the ngk bkre7 and swap them to see if it makes a difference. But i also have heard and read about icm failure and was going to purchase the kit for the coil conversion but i didn't want to purchase it for 500 dollars not knowing if that is for sure the issue. Like i said the misfires are random and multiple cylinders you can really notice it at idle thats when its the worst. Car drives fine with no flashing check engine light and no hesitation. Has normal vaccum as well. Any would be greatly appreciated thank you so much
