What's the best way to go for roof racks? I need to haul a kayak on the reg. I also drive a ton of highway miles so wind noise is a big concern.

I use factory rack plus Thule J-style cradles for our 2 kayaks.

Did you notice a hit in MPG with the Thule? I saw some "aero" style blades too that looked good. I like the seasucker the best for my infrequent use but they're sold out until further notice.

I recently purchased and installed the Thule AeroBlade roof rack bars. I was between these, and the yakima whispbars but ended up going with Thule and I have not regretted it (I also got a great deal on them ). The bars alone are very quiet, even at highway speeds. I am currently using them to carry my bike and there is definitely a noticeable whistle when i'm hauling that around (I usually listen to loud music so I don't mind it). The Thule bars look very good in my opinion. I cannot speak for the kayak racks and noise but I imagine that no matter what racks you get, there will be a decent amount of noise produced.

    Good luck with your choice.
