I got this car recently and wanted to break it in properly. totally stock. it was a lot of fun! first time on this track (have done something like 25 track days over the last 6 years in different cars) so I started out slow but was moving along pretty good by the end of the day. the brakes held up better than I expected although I did take it a little easy on them. I didn't take it easy on the tires which led to a completely destroyed front right tire (chunking badly). i'm glad I had only signed up for a one-day event otherwise I would've had to leave early! the car was a blast but definitely not a track car. I don't go often enough to care right now though. i'll probably need to figure out a different tire strategy for next time though...

    enjoy the video!

sorry - can't figure out how to embed for the life of me ... ugh.

i'm no sure I want to make it into a track car. I will be there so infrequently it's not really worth doing much. the car is fun around town as-is although i'll probably do a tune to help there. I need to go shop for tires. oops.

Nice! I consider Thunderhill the best track in California; there's only one wall, loads of runoff, you get some elevation, 3 miles, and now there's Thunderhill East and the big loop.

Some mag ride lowering springs, rear swaybar, some subframe inserts, new brakes, and some track wheels so you don't encounter the same issue with wearing your DD tires. Add some bolt on power mods like an ECU, DSG software, intake, and exhaust, and you're in some serious potential, without sacrificing driveability.

    Also, to embed, just do:

I unfortunately wont' be going to the track very often so i'm not sure I want to invest much time/money into everything listed .. but I definitely will keep that in mind if things change. I did add a JB1 which I enjoyed today on the street. if I were serious about tracking this car, speed wouldn't be the first place i'd go. also, the brake pads seemed to hold up fairly well at T'hill so i'll keep an eye on them. i'll definitely be rotating my tires more frequently next time I go out (which will probably be Sonoma or T'hill 5 mile setup).

thanks for the input and the video help! (fixed!!!)

do you go out with yours often?
