1.8BAT QM AEB
I've got a cam chain tensioner taking a crap on me. Haven't pulled the valve cover to inspect overall damage yet, but wanted to ask everyone else's opinion. OEM Audi unit installed when I put my new engine in about 3k ago, now I've got chain slap like a bitch.
From anyone who's dealt with this, how typical is it for a brand new OEM unit to fail? From what I've seen, nobody makes a manual aftermarket one, so my options of getting something "better" just don't exist from what I've seen.
It could just be the pads, I haven't looked yet, but I'm not counting on that. 35+ psi wears things out fast. Optimally a fixed manual adjustable one would be perfect, but ya right.
