    ecs carbon fiber mirror help

    anyone I would appreciate the help if you have any experience. im trying to remove the bottom piece of the our mirror before I remove the mirror motor anyone have any tips to remove this black plastic piece on the bottom?? @ecs

    Did you read the install instructions

    I did. they explain how to remove it but its not working for me and I don't want to damage this piece since its reused. was hoping for any tips. have you installed them?

    No but theres a few guys here that have and complaind about some clips and an extra screw behind the mirror.

    Remove the motor first.

    Seems a little different than the ecs instructions but I'll give it a shot. Thanks for the tip

    How'd it go? I had a LOT of issues with mine but I got tired off the clips and just pressed on the bottom piece until it popped off.

    haven't even attempted to try it again since im in the process of doing quite a bit of other jobs to the car. did you just push down the bottom piece with some pressure?

    My first one took two hours. Second took 15 minutes.

    One broken clip on the first, none on the second

    Best advice we can give is to take your time. Reading over the install instructions a few times helps as well.

    Yeah. I broke one clip and I did it on both an RS5 and my S4 so I'd say to just go that route if you're tired of trying.
