I do not want to sound....well, the previous owner was a chick car just hit 90k under my ownership. So I am weighing out the options on clutch kits and I am leaning towards one from AMD. What aftermarket kits are you running? Also, I wanted to get opinions from people who have installed a light weight flywheel. Is the performance really noticeable? I am trying to decide if its worth the extra coin. And NO I am NOT going to buy a kit from JHM. Thanks in advance!

I had JHM LWFW/R series clutch in last RS4, slipped on me a few times.

Have AMD Stage 4 clutch and their single mass flywheel in new car and love it. I was flat out abusing it a few weekends ago, drag racing in 93* heat. It never slipped once, and that's with AMD HP blower.

I've just heard to many horror stories about the JHM units from my mechanic and some of his clients and I'd rather just avoid the headache all together. This job is enough of a PITA already. My question is primarily about LWFWs some say they noticed a difference and others not.

40k on my JHM LWFW & stg4 clutch. Any clutch/flywheel will fail if it's not installed properly. If a wheel fell off your car, would you blame the wheel manufacturer? ...or the guy who torqued the lugs...just my take on it. Not trying to start a debate.

The reason I had to replace my clutch to begin with was because the spring stops failed in the dual mass flywheel. I run a single-mass lwfw on my mercedes as well...I see it as one less point of failure. The motor will spin up/down a bit faster too. No regrets.

I would highly suggest going with the Spec clutch and fw. I've had nothing but great experience with it. You won't hear any issues about "inhalation errors" or manufacturing defects. As someone who had to have my trans pulled numerous times due to issues with other manufactures, it's not even worth gambling on many of them. I'm over 40k now on my setup.
I went with the Spec Stage 2+. The feel is very similar to the positives of the stock setup but improves areas such as rev matching since it's a little lighter. The Spec flywheel isn't the lightest around but it's weight helps to retain daily driving comfort. At idle in neutral during the winter you do hear some of the classic lw chatter. During warmer months it's reduced substantially.

My only complaint with a LWFW is getting started on hills. If it's a slight hill it's not too bad. But around here we have a lot of hills and it's not fun trying to get moving on a steep hill.

I have the stg 3 R from jhm with LWFW. It's been flawless since day one and I have about 2k miles on it now, love it every day. The flywheel is noticeable for sure but I wouldn't describe it as this massive performance increase. It revs faster and pulls slightly harder, and blipping the motor becomes way more fun and responsive - I personally found the car easier to drive coupled with a tune and clutch because there's more feedback and it seems more predictable, but on hills you need to be deliberate and pretty quick or else you'll find yourself revving to 6k in no time at all lol. A couple friends have commented immediately on how quick and responsive the revs are when they sit in the car.

I recently installed Spec Stage 3+ Clutch & Lightweight Flywheel and absolutely LOVE the setup. Very similar to stock as far as engagement. Very minimal chatter

I had a JHM Stage 4 + 034 LWFW and was very happy with it. After probably 55k miles it welded and I replaced the clutch and friction surface with a AMD Stage 5, which I am also very happy with.

I'm almost 10k on my JHM 3R kit with LWFW. I'll echo all of the above. Slight chatter, but nothing bad.

JHM stage 5R with ~10k on it and no issues. It's basically a toggle switch, and isn't fun in traffic. OEM flywheel so can't help you there, other than tell you the LWFW is noisy (as all are).

The R series pp is great. Haven't had any slippage issues. I'm in Texas, where the sky breathes fire.
