2.5 inch cat back vs 3 inch cat back?

Hey guys, solid question here I feel. I have a completely stock 1.8t 01 on my hands and want to do my first mod. The only downside I can see to have a 3inch cat back is not enough back pressure? I've heard online that some people are met with this problem so I was considering going down to a 2.5 inch exhaust. I'm not planning on doing much else performance upgrades for this since it's my daily and has only 101k on the motor. Any feedback would be nice, thanks guys.

You do realize when you search with say.... Google.. It crawls around for specific words. So whether you like it or not, immediately when this thread was created it can be something that pops up when you search. I see it all the fuckin time and it's annoying for me when I'm trying to find something on a platform I know nothing about. If someone does search and finds this thread all they're going to see is a bunch of useless comments saying 'search'. It's not the op who is mucking up the forum, it's replying 'search'.

That said... this is a lame question :p there's no reason for 3 inch if you're stock. You would by no means be taking advantage of the size and I imagine some would say it hinders performance. 2.5 would do fine.

I have a 3 in on my car. Stock ko3 tuned. The only reason I have 3 in is bc it was half the price of a 2.5" system. I can see through the muffler and right through the resonator. I'm sure you can pick up a used Borla or alike brand for around 300$ usually. And if your board you can watch the episode of engine masters on YouTube where they compare a 2.5" to a 3" exhaust. Mind you it on a big block Chevy, I think, but there is still a difference. But as others have said, 2.5 will do fine unless your BT. Hope this helped.
