::Excelerate Performance:: APR Super Charged R8 Goes Twin turbo!

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!

What happens when you buy an R8 V8 coupe and are satisfied for a while… but then suddenly one day you are driving spiritedly on your favorite winding road not far from home and you car doesn’t quite feel as fast as it once was?
Simple, you do your own independent research on what is available and see what you options are. Sadly, when you know there are bolt on solutions for your car but discover they have been recently discontinued.. you begin to panic.
You inquire about having custom parts made, and the quote ends up being way beyond the budget you had set from the start and you quickly become depressed.
That is, until you speak to Excelerate Performance and find out the owner is willing to remove parts from his car that is identical to yours, and install them onto yours for less than original purchase price to being with.
SCORE. This is “kind of” how this one started… it was all fun and games from there on.

The customer happy with his APR supercharged R8 we now had a cross road leave the shop R8 naturally aspirated or go full custom on a turbo kit and guess what we picked!
Enough with the talk lets get to the pictures

Removal of the APR supercharger kit

Not to say the APR supercharger kit didn't make enough power but in this industry nothing is ever done and everything can always be brought a step further.

    Turbocharged content

This setup is fully custom and still being tweaked to get everything perfect we are hoping to have the car back on the road within the next few months.

That is all we have for now as this project is still in the works but I will be sure to update everyone as it goes!

Engine out for a clutch/flywheel replacement and to gut the factory cats.

    Intakes Done!

Air to water intercooler and shroud done, just need to put the turbo kit back on, clean everything up and get it on the Dyno with Tony@EPL.

Has it really been over a year since our last update?! We have been extremely busy here at Excelerate but in between jobs we have managed to put some work into the R8.

We are in the final stages of mock up, most if not all of the plumbing is ready for cleanup and we are finalizing the wiring for all necessary sensors.
