Can anyone help me out to what these codes mean?

What the deuce? Intake manifold flaps on both sides, ABS, steering lock, starter?

Been in any rain or other adverse weather conditions? Seems electrical. I'd say fluke, but none appeared to pop at the same time... Interesting.

Maybe the intake manifold flappers made the CEL come on? The others might have been soft codes. I'm pretty sure that ABS code was something I did with the VAGCOM after I got the car, trying to program something. Weather has been good. I cleared the codes, so we will see if they come back.

What I found on Ross Tech:

18436/P2004/008196 - Intake Manifold Flap; Bank 1: Stuck Open

    Possible Causes
    Vacuum leak
Faulty Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor1 (G336)
Intake Manifold Runner binding or sticking
    Possible Solutions
    Replaced failed vacuum line
Check Intake Manifold Runner Position Sensor 1 (G336) and wiring, see repair manual
    Check Intake Manifold Flap
    Use Output Test
Perform Basic Setting (Switch Ignition OFF between Output Test and Basic Setting)

Are the flap motors prone to issues on this car like they were on b7? With the flap stuck open, you might notice a slightly rougher cold start I think, and maybe lower mpg. It could also be carbon deposits that are restricting the movement of the flaps from inside in my experience with the 2.0t.

Called the local dealership, both g336 sensors are the same part number: 06E907396G and are $135 each to replace. I guess I will find out if it's just a fluke, or if the sensors will need to be replaced.

I checked for a vacuum leak, I didn't see any loose lines.

If the manifold flappers are getting stuck, well I will have no idea what to do about that.

Not sure - I haven't noticed either loss of power or MPG...

I'm pretty sure the lock steering column error was during an alignment at the Audi dealership. I took it there on 08/09/2016.

If the flaps are stuck open, it shouldn't affect performance. They pretty much only close under very light throttle and during cold starts for emissions purposes.

On the b7 there was a way with vagcom to run an adaptation process on the flaps that could sometimes correct the issue if something random was out of whack. Might want to look into that as well

The ABS code is a result of you turning off driver steering recommendation. If you turn DSR back on, you can clear that code.

I'd reset and see if it pops again, pretty crazy to think both sides (2 different motors) would trip codes at the same time???

DSR is driver steering recommendation. People recommend turning it off to reduce steering wander and increase steering feedback. I've tried it, did not receive any of the benefits and got that ABS code.

Probably a fluke but could be carbon build up.

I did notice a loss of power in a second gear pull today. Looks like they might actually be stuck open.

Brought my car into the dealer to have it repaired. Could have been cheaper to replace the part myself, but honestly I didn't even know where to look in my engine bay. Part was $135, it's a vacuum valve with sensor, the part has a "Y" with vacuum lines that goes to both modules to open and close the manifold runners.

Diagnostic charge wasn't rolled into credit towards the service? That's the way it was with my subie.

Hi guys, I have a similar issue at the moment, fault code for bank 1 intake manifold flap stuck open.

When i try to actuate the vacuum cell unit i can feel the inside of it like kind of crunching, doesn't feel like the flaps are just the inside of the vacuum unit,

Just had a thought... I recently had a new super charger pulley fitted and the garage who fitted it removed the charger, I had the CEL light come on that night but the code was stored from the time that they were working on the car, could it be possible that they have moved the flaps and put the charger back on in a position that has caused the flaps to become stuck which has then made the vacuum unit chew itself up?

    Yes.

[QUOTE=Ford Prefect;12279866]For future searchers, here are two pics, the first is how it should look and the second is how it shouldn't upon reinstall. I recommend you keep making sure they move as you go through the torque sequence. One on the end popped back over, so I was glad I kept checking.

The flaps are integrated into the intake manifolds, so unless they removed those it should not have been an issue. The pics above are from my carbon cleaning. Just removing the SC won't cause this, unless of course they monkeyed with the vacuum hose or disconnected the electrical connectors (but those might be just position sensing).

This. They should not have needed to remove the manifolds if only changing the s/c pulley via removal of the charger.

My car is currently being diagnosed for sticky manifold flaps, started with EPC lights then developed into CEL. Its the 2nd time Ive taken it to an Audi Indy shop to have it looked at, this time they might be replacing Bank 1 manifold if they can confirm thats the issue. Ill post an update this week
