    Mobile hot spot

    Just trying to figure out the advantage of using the sim card in my S4 2013 vs. just using my phone as a mobile hotspot?

    Because all of the car's internet based features cannot connect to the mobile hotspot.

    you can configure the MMI with a mobile router connected via USB in the glovebox to pull in the signal from your phone hotspot. This allows you to use all the MMI features as if it were using a sim card, but no monthly. The only downside is you use the MMI connector in the glov box so you cant connect say an ipod.

    Forgot about that. Someone on here would make a killing if they sold those as kits.

    I do not seem to have anything but audi connector with a weird cable.

    There is no USB in the glove box. You have to buy the MMI cable to convert to USB, along with several other bits of hardware. IMO, not worth the effort. Here's a thread:
