    Evap canister issue

I am pretty sure that I have an Evap canister issue, when I go to fill up I cannot let it hang on auto to fill, it keeps releasing the lever, I have to manually hold it and sometimes move the nozzle in and out trying to find the perfect spot that it won't release, Yes, I have gotten weird glances. Am I on the right track with the evap canister?

    1. would a used one be worth replacing?
    2. How hard is it to replace
    3. would that help with hard starts in the morning?

going to be replacing my fuel filter as well shortly.

I went to Lowes and Napa to pick up a 3/4x3/4x1/2 tee fitting ( lowes ) and 1 foot for 3/4 heater hose and a foot of 1/2 hose.

I took the canister out of the car, used the tee fitting to create a closed loop in the system.

After the first fill up with no hiccups, I bought a new canister and havent had an issue since
