    Electronic Dampening Sytem nightmare

So I have a 2016 Audi S4 which has the ADS suspension. First of all, if you plan on lowering your car I would HIGHLY suggest that you do not buy an S4 with this system. I wanted my car lower so I had the H&R OE sport springs installed which lowered me 1.2 inches. It's ok, not low enough for me and the ride seems to be getting a little bouncy. Also I have some kind of clunking noise coming from the rear of my car and the shop has already ruled out that its not coming from my EC sway bar or end links. So now I'm thinking of going with the KW H.A.S. there seems to be much misinformation out there as to how low you can go with this. ECS states in product title that it from 0.0 to 1.0 but in the product information part ti stats from 0.6 to 1.8" front and 0.6 to 1.6" rear. Go to the O34 web site and they have those front and rear numbers reversed. So whats the answer, the people that sell it certainly don't know the answer, and I think I may want to go even lower then that. Then I sent ECS a on line message asking about the H&R street coilovers and if I could use them if I also installed the KW electronic dampening cancellation kit. There response; The H&R street coiler will only work on cars without ADS or you will get a light. So I again ask, but if I install the KW cancellation kit, will this work. They respond with a yes, you see they failed to read my entire question and this is a lot of my frustration with these vendors who don't know anything about the products they sell. Now I'm reading that coilovers make a lot of clunking and squeaking noises, so I have no idea of what I want to do. Anyhow my frustration continues and my car is back in the shop as they try and pinpoint were the hell this clunking sound is coming from!! Oh, and I just purchased ECS 10 mm spacers for my VMR 710 wheels and the shop says the don't seat correctly. This has been a very frustration car to modify.

can you get a video of said clunking?

also , yes Electronic Dampeners limit the mod list, if you wanna retain them dampers, you'll probably wanna look into springs that match up with the properties of the shocks
unfortunately i got nothing for you there, as i could care less about how low my car is ( i like to hover over speedbumps and not give a damn in comfort mode)
    otherwise.....

get KW cancellation kit, and any coils you want, and call it a day
regarding Coilover noise, if they are stiffer than you have to assume NVH can increase, the s4 is also long and heavy , so flex noises are expected as well

i'd put stock springs back and on locate the clunking first, before you even consider doing any mods with the suspension in order to make sure you can know where the noise and what's causing it is coming from

Had a wheel re alignment and the sound is gone!!!!!! I had the wheels aligned after lower it and it was fine but something must of knocked one of the wheels out of alignment.

I recently did H&R Street Coils with the KW EDC kit. The ride is super comfortable when cruising around town but stiffens up nicely in hard canyon corners. I'm not slammed but my ftg's are 25.375" F and 25.5" R (zero wheel gap). I would highly recommend a set of coils and an EDC kit over just springs, even on a car with ADS. You still retain the ability to adjust steering feel and sport diff activity (and I guess the stupid soundakator), and the handling is vastly superior when you drop this car. I never really drove outside of dynamic mode anyway (because race car) so I wasn't dissapointed to lose comfort mode in the shocks. Modding these cars is expensive, so it's something you want to do right the first time. Just make sure you dont rely on any one source for info (especially that of a vendor). That's why this site is so awesome. Research, research, and research some more, and read up on other peoples real world experience and information with mods before pulling the trigger on anything.
