What's up everyone! Got a question.... Does anyone know if B7 S4/A4 Coil overs will fit on the B7 RS4?!?! I don't want to have to pay for RS4 coil overs if I can find cheaper S4/A4 if they fit.

No they wont, and this shouldn't even be considered. Perhaps you shouldn't own a RS, if the appropriate upgrades are outside your budget.

Actually the majority of coil overs (aftermarket) available for the B7 S4 are interchangeable with the B7 RS4. You have to do some research to see which ones are compatible. That being said, any retailer who sells these will have them listed for the same price.

A little harsh eh? I have the same sentiment though. These new RS4 owners are in for a surprise with regards to maintenance costs if they can't afford a $2k set of coilovers.

Pretty aggressive over here.. Just a heads up.. RS4s are not that expensive in terms of cars.

Relatively speaking, for a $30k car, the RS4 is expensive to maintain....but not expensive in the category of "cars". That said, a 63k mile RS4 is appealing to me. A 63k RS4 with S4 coilovers is about $6k less appealing to me.

Is there much of a weight difference in S4 compared RS4? Id be curious to know how many s4 coilovers/ rs4 coilovers have been branded to fit both cars.

I think they are close weight-wise...I should clarify my statement though: I personally love the comfort and versatility of DRC (no track for me) so a car with DRC removed and [relative] budget coilovers installed is a big negative. Id guess most here would prefer some coilovers though.

LOL S4 coils will fit on RS4. KW has said the only real difference with theirs is the RS4 has DRC caps.

But i do agree above. Don't buy a German luxury performance sedan and then try to go cheap on everything. Im scared the B6 and B7 platform will turn into the B5 platform with knockoff chinese shit products soon.

At one point the B5 was a luxury performance sedan. its just how it goes really. I don't approve of cheaping out on shit but at the same time it will be interesting to see where things go. I have seen some really cool DIY builds on B5s.

PM sent about the KW V1s in RS4 application. And the month of September KW is doing mail in rebates on coilovers.

I think some just may be upset that a 21yr old has the same car as they do an probably bought it way cheaper with less miles than they theirs. At the end of the day its my car I can do what I want with it from doing different model coilovers to stickerbombing the damn thing (which I would never do)

Agree, I have seen the B5 turbo replica, it's scary. I don't think RS4 will have replica product, the market is too small (it's a good thing)

Yeah I think the RS4 market is too small to get profitable from, but the B6/7 S4 market? That may be in peril.

I dont think your age has anything to do with it and I doubt anyone knew before you announced it. S4 coils are the same part numbers from some manufacturers as many have stated. But please don't put the cheapest set of coilovers on the car (A4) and sell it to some unsuspecting buyer.

    This.

Don't be that guy. If you're selling the vehicle anyway, then you're only hurting yourself. You'll be decreasing the value by uninstalling OE equipment for low end coilovers. You're also doing the next person a disservice.

    Agreed.

The negative: we can't get companies like ENLAES to manufacture products for our cars.

The positive: despite the significant drop in the value of these cars, I don't think it will ever get as bad as the B5S4 community in regards to chinese knockoff parts and uneducated shit flinging/trolling. (Disclaimer: Yes, this is a generalization. No, it's not meant to insult anyone. I love B5S4's, but we all know what a clusterfuck that community is.)
