    AT MT Downpipe/Flexpipe

Has anyone ever used an AT downpipe (after Cat) on a 6 speed? The brackets are different so I'll have to bolt it up without using the support bracket. I'm not sure what will be the side effects to doing this, especially in installation.

The transmission interferes with Auto down pipe that is why the auto trans and the manual trans use different down pipes.

So not only can I not use the mount but the trans will stop me from installing it any way?

Manual downpipe won't work on an automatic because of the larger auto trans. An auto downpipe might work on a manual.

Only issue I was thinking is that that support bracket helps for mounting it to the cat & center pipe. Also even if you do get it installed on bumps & vibrations will it matter there's nothing to help the flex pipe?

Without the DP connected to the trans your flex pipe will tear very quickly.

This. Keep in mind that the entire driveline and exhaust system vibrates when the car is in operation.

I ran a manual downpipe on my automatic for a while without the downpipe secured at the tranny, and it eventually broke right at the turbo.

I've got an old OEM 6-speed DP sitting in my basement if you want it. but shipping is going to be a pain. Just get this Bosal pipe, its OEM for super cheap:

Thats for a 6-speed 1.8t. Installed one in my old b6 and it fit perfectly.

I posted this after the fact but I had a guy trying to sell me a used AT DP for $50 I was really close to getting. Then an ebay seller selling an almost new AT DP for $75, everyone was telling me just use it without the bracket if the bracket isn't compatible. Then I noticed the diff in the support mount and posted WTBs on all FB groups, forums, and checked part outs on Craigslist for 6 speed DP. Finally checked RockAuto and saw the Bosal for $85, went back and forth in thinking maybe I should get the cheapest solution since I'll do a cat back system next year. Then I started to think about what's the bracket's function and deciced to pay $50 (expedited shipping) more to get the Bosal. Just for shits I decided to post this to ease my mind & confirm....thanx guys!

When I converted my five speed to a six speed, I made a short bracket to adapt the down pipe to the new transmission. It seems reasonable that an AT DP would fit, since the AT is huge compared to the six speed. That does seem to say that the adaptor bracket might be a bit larger.
