    Folding mirrors do not work.

Hey guys. I'm new to audizine and this is my first post. I've done some research on my issue but have found nothing. I have a 2004 b6 s4. When I bought the car, the mirrors folded by turning the mirror adjustment switch to the rear. However, I soon after had a leak, causing my power supply unit to fail. I have replaced the supply unit and everything else seems to be in order, except the folding mirrors. When I turn the switch to the rear, nothing happens. No noises or anything. I am at a complete loss. Could someone point me in the right direction. Thank you!

    Did you check the fuses?

I searched my owners manual for the fuse location, but I couldn't find one for the power folding mirrors.

Open the drivers door, then the panel on the end of the dash. There's a legend printed in there.

I checked the legend. Electric Mirror was the same fuse as the gear lever gate and the reverse lights. And both of those are in working order. The fuse looked good. I swapped the fuse just to be sure. Still no folding mirrors.

Nope. I've been scouring the Internet for weeks and haven't found any solid answer. I don't know if it's a sensor, the switch, a relay, or motor. I'm at a complete loss. 😰

Why don't you give this a try, manually fold one of the mirrors and then put the controls to the rear to fold in the mirrors. Then try to extend them open with the controls.

    See if you hear anything.

I assume that the car is parked and running when you're trying? I know it took me a bit to figure out how to get them to go on mine, but no problems so far *fingers crossed*

I tried your method. And when I tried to fold them out after manually folding them in, I heard a very faint tap. Then the same tap 5 seconds later, but the mirror(s) did nothing. I tried this many times and got the same result out of both mirrors. i am still confused as what the issue would be.
Thank you for the tip. I feel like I am closer to figuring this issue out

Why don't you try taking out the glass mirror? Might give you a better view of what's going on inside the housing. seems like just as passat, tilt the mirrors in all the way and you should be able to gently pull the edge and unclip the glass.

This one shows you a few screws and the housing comes right off.
