Is it possible to increase the headlight brightness?

I have a B8.5 with bi xenon headlight and they perform very badly at night. Short light distance and yellowish look. Is there anyway to fix that?

Mod the lenses? Is the yellow square you're talking about? and whats the science behind it?

There is a post on the forum, apparently there are less air bubbles in the modded lenses that offer a better focus of light. I'm also interested in any extra pictures or first hand accounts for the different bulbs.

No, you don't need the spacer kit. The clear lenses that retrofitsource offer are a bit thicker than stock lenses so there is no need for it.

FYI also Dannydyn did an excellent DIY on how to do this on the b8.5 lights. I did my b8 lights and the process is very similar.

Good to know, I ordered the spacer kit with mine because I wasn't sure...

They are currently sitting in my garage with some CF vinyl and black spray paint waiting for surgery...

I have not...yet ;) - I am pretty good when it comes to DIY (brakes/rotors/In-stall front grill/up-grade SC pully) but baking open a headlight (even thought most here have said its eaiser w/a B8.5 over the B8). If i got to see one opened up in person...I would give it go....seeing how I have NOT... this DIY gives me pause

But the folks that have done quite a few of these mods + you compare that to the price of some E-code headlights....I am way more inclined to go this route.

I was VERY satisfied with the way they opened my eCodes and blackend them out. Major props to this company! One happy customer over here :)

Good to hear. I'll have to give them a call and see what their turnaround time is and how much it'd cost to restore both of my lights. Maybe throw in some upgrades. :)

At that point, I wonder if it would be more cost effective to just buy some ecodes and be done with it.
