P1340 code, can someone help me out, rebuild is finally done-thanks

So we have installed the new cam tensioner which has taken care of the engine noise from the passenger side. Car is back together and runs well with one exception that we could use you help on.

When we first started the engine we had a code P1340 present which says the cam is out of sync. Sometimes this code is common when the timing belt jumps. We checked the timing belt when we took the engine back apart to replace the cam tensioner and it was dead on. We put the new tensioner in and reinstalled the timing belt and verified again it is dead on. Car runs perfectly now with the new tensioner, however it will again set the P1340 code only at idle. We have swapped cam sensors from bank to bank and code stays the same.

Can you check with your tuner or engine builder and see if this code is something normal with this type of build? I would hate to have to do another days+ worth of work ripping apart the other cam tensioner….

Tensioners are left/right specific, make sure you have the correct one in there. (the 87 or 88 is what you are looking for)

The chain is also something that is very easily, and very commonly gotten wrong when messing around in this area.

PS: There is possibly some fkery going on with this stuff in the book or vcds. They may have swapped sides so you need to unplug one and make sure the open/short code that pops is for the one you think it is.
There are only 2 things needed to make an Audi work properly - Duct tape and WD40. If it moves and it shouldn't - Duct tape. If it doesn’t move and it should - WD40.

Sure enough that's what happened, vendor went wrong g one and no one checked # so my question is we swap the electronic part only or does the entire tensioner have to be swapped out

They are close and can be bolted on either side, but one pushes up, and the other pushes down.
Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but its balls deep time again
