I have to have my S6 in the shop anyway to have the front bumper fixed after someone backed into me, and am seriously considering replacing my stock grill with this while the front of the car has been taken apart. At around $450 including shipping, it seems much more reasonable than the other options I've seen (which can cost upwards of $1,700)

That looks similar to the one I did on my car. Check out my build thread in my signature for install details. Some work will need to be done to fit it. But its not too bad.

Never bought or seen one of the replicas in person, but would buy one in a heart beat over the high priced OE ones.

The Chinese made replicas of OE parts in general can be hit or miss, but the "hit" ones are usually 90% of the OE. And especially when your dealing with a non mechanical part, it not too much of a risk

Be cautious of the camera and sensor mounts that you need for your car's spec. The lower double mesh panel only comes with the Quattro lettering in many cases but if they will ship it without then that is intriguing.

I'm with you though, the ~$400 is worth giving a shot vs costly oem. I have an over qualified installer/fabricator lined up to to put mine in mid September, I don't want any issues with my cameras/etc and have no time to tackle myself at the moment. Worst case I can sell it...

But they would not elaborate on what that was. looking at the mounting points and how simply the factory is attached to the rear bumper cover, as long as the shape is correct should be an easy fit

Please do and share your experience. I recall seeing a thread where others tried OEM rs6/7 diffusers and it required a bunch of modification/epoxy to mount.

my grille - is an offshoot and not OEM and although i had to do some modification for the front mount camera it was still moon beams cheaper that an OEM and i am more than happy with the look and fit

He asks what rings you want and will ask which options you have for the correct mounts, which he installs rather than you having to do it. You can get them with the script, or without. Without is a one piece and not divided which is why I chose the script style as it breaks up the grill a little. This guy is legit. I installed myself and it fits like a glove.


Oh, and there is no reason it won't work on an S6, RS6 or an A6. Same for S7/A7/RS7. These grills are all interchangeable. The modification might be a couple unused tabs/mounting clips.

I purchased mine from the same seller as the OPs link, however I did go with one that was set up for front mount camera and night vision. The grill itself was fine, no problems with the quality but the front mount camera was a joke, looked like crap and really would have ruined the grill. Had a shop do some custom fab on it to make it look cleaner, they ended up using the oem mount. So good luck if you need the camera as an option from them.

Yes, the same seller as the OP's eBay link. It arrived on the early side of the eBay estimate which in my opinion, was great. I just bought a wheel from Germany and it took weeks to pass through German customs to be cleared for shipping. As for install, yes, you must remove the front bumper to do this install. You'll also be painting or wrapping your aluminum bumper bar in black or it will be seen through the grill. You can see the sun reflecting off the satin finish black paint I used in the image I provided.

mwmaroney1, Good info. I didn't have the NV or forward facing cameras so this wasn't something I had experience with.

Apparently I have found out that after taking off bumper one would need to go to dealer and spend over $1000 to have them re-align all the sensors! No thanks. Can anyone dispute this? I have a 2015 s6.

really don't think that is the case, at least not for the parking sensors for sure. I have had my bumper off and on with no issues. Guess I can't say I know that for sure on a NV camera, but I get that is the same.

Got mine from Dubstop, had front end completely removed and never had to realign sensors. Like others have said, these grills are decent for the cost but you will need to do some custom fabricating for the front camera to sit properly.

Also, to those concerned about realigning your ACC sensors, I've heard from several that installed and did not have a problem. If you are careful, nothing will be in a different location than when you started as the bumper realign quite easily in my experience. I don't have the ACC so can't say for sure but do have parking sensors which I moved substantially (up in the grill a spot on the honey combs) and they still work perfectly.

I was the first person to import the OEM RS6 grill. No camera, just parking sensors. All black without the Quattro at the bottom, brushed surround. Cost almost $2,000.00 by the time I added the 4 rings badge, and parking sensor brackets.(reused factory grill mounted parking sensors, painted them black) Had to trim 4-6 tabs (can't remember) and it snapped right in. No sensor realignment needed. Recently acquired the RS6 "chinese" bumper that included the same grill, with black surround. Grill is not even on the quality level of the OEM unit. Really flimsy feeling. Installing the bumper soon, will for sure swap the grills. At 1/4 of the cost, the less expensive grill is probably a better bargain. If it breaks less than 4 times, you still made out.

Don't waste your time with the eBay blacked out badges, they look like sh!t. I tried every option out there for my s6, the only one worthy of putting on there is the badges from tag motorsports. Yes, more expensive, but they are oem quality and size.

As for the realignment that's just the dealer giving you their policy. 14 s6 with every option and no alignment was needed and received no error messages with the new grill installed. Acc, lane assist, front camera etc is all fine after.

I believe that is the site or really damn similar to where I got mine. So far so good. The plastic around the Quattro letter area feels thinner / cheaper than I would like ideally but hey $350-400 so can't complain....haven't compared to OEM rs6 version for good reasons :)

It is the same seller as you recommended him to me. :) I agree about the thinner plastic around the lower grill portion. It is a little flimsier than OEM but let's be honest, it's a 1/4 of the price and almost no one can tell visually.

That does look better than most for sure (I ordered from other sellers and sites first) but unless my measurements are wrong that's still quite a bit smaller then the oem badge.

This an exact match in size to my current chrome trunk emblem. It is the 24mm grille emblem that I'm having custom made (for a whooping $23) in matte black.

The TAG Motorsports badges are real OEM badges. Your badges are very good for being found on eBay for so cheap, but they are not OEM badges and do not have the correct 3 dimensional shape.
I am very happy that you are pleased with your badges, and they do look about 95% accurate. But the Letters are supposed to be raised.


Here is a pic of my TAG Motorsports badge on my car currently. Forgive the dirt as I have not washed the car for some time. But the picture does clearly show the correct 3D shape of the S6 lettering.
