    Question Matt Finish Carbon Fiber

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
    Hi All:

Does any one have any Matt CF exterior parts installed from Neidfaktor? The gloss finish diffuser is a little too much for my taste and I'd like to see what the matt finish looks like before I fork over $$$ for the part

    Thanks

I can't help with pictures but I think matte may be too dull, you lose the beauty of the cloth weave with a matte finish that really shows up with a gloss top coat.
It's the rear diffuser so it's tucked away under the rear bumper, it needs to be bold to stand out so gloss will help.

    Just my thoughts.

I think I like the dull finish for the diffuser but the glossy one for the mirrors and the front spoiler.

If you're doing the mirrors and the front splitter, don't you want it to match?

I vote for all glossy parts. It will look great on your Mythos black RS5.

The perception of depth is lost on a matte finish vs. a gloss finish in CF. While I do like a matte CF finish for some applications, others definitely fair better with a gloss finish, especially where durability is concerned.

I'm a big fan of matte finishes but for CF I'd agree that gloss looks much better.

I am struggling with visualizing the contrast, Neidfaktor seems to be the best outfit out there and I hate to get the parts and then realize that the contrast would be too much. Maybe I will get the mirrors first.

    Thanks everyone for your thoughts.

I received some nice pictures from Neidfaktor . When I pull the trigger I will be going with the glossy for the diffuser and the front spoiler. But I think I will be leaving the mirrors alone as I think they will clash against the car at those locations. there are cheaper sources but it seems like this outfit produces the best quality. I think Alex at europrice sources from them also

These are the guys who made my exhaust tips, not cheap by any stretch of the imagination but the quality is superb and OE parts are used as the base. Not sure how the prices compare?

Here's their full selection of parts:

Not long at all, maybe 2 months at the most. Be aware a lot of European companies close down for a few weeks in summer, they do this so everyone gets a holiday and the company isn't trying to run on a skeleton crew. It may be worth trying again now the kids have gone back to school?

They usually reply within a few days of emailing them.

They are on Facebook and Twitter, you may have more luck contacting them on their site.
