Suggestion - Sellers post their city and state in the title

Just a suggestion. But if its a bulky item (exhaust) since I am in VA I am not going to consider an item in CA just because of the shipping cost.

Just a suggestion; chime in if you agree or disagree.

    I agree.

Nothing worse than seeing something you're interested but it's across the country

I think as long as the location is listed in the sale ad then its fine. Also most people have their location listed under their username(when browsing from a computer) and if using tapatalk, just click the persons username and it'll show.

And its always worth reading the full ad anyway. What if you're interested in an AWE Touring exhaust that usually sells for $1400 used, and the seller is asking $800, and is willing to ship it for cost. You mean to tell me you wouldn't pay the $100, or even $200 shipping so you could have an expensive exhaust for $1k or less?

And before you say nobody is crazy enough to sell one for that cheap, just ask Tappa how much he bought it for lol. Its always possible man, give everyones ad a chance.

definitely agree, was thinking of posting something like this earlier actually. alot of times people dont even mention their location, and if you're lucky they have it on the side on their profile info. but i get tired of having to ask and see where a seller is located before having any realistic interest in buying. i hate the "local pickup only" posts, but no mention of location at all lol.

in the title would be even better, but cmon guys at least mention it in your post if anything, i'm sure the seller also has to get tired of answering location questions.

don't want to sound like a douche, but each member and already has their location listed under their audizine name. so if you fail to look at that before you bother with buying or selling, you're just an idiot.

unfortunately you just sounded like a douche. not everyone has their location listed under their name there, that only shows if the person bothered to fill out the location portion of their profile. yes most members do have it, but there are a good amount that don't and there are plenty of classified posts without the user's profile having a location listed. also sometimes users will list just the state so you can't tell, alot of states are huge so it doesn't help without knowing the city, and some members just put some kind of nickname or something else weird that's not always an actual city name.

    Great suggestion.

Some forums (Toyota 4Runner, for example) require state and price in title. It really saves time when scanning the ads. They will take down your ad if you omit it.

Especially since some users don't list their location in the profile, or do so very vaguely.

I also agree! If the seller is willing to ship the item the location doesn't matter much and I can see leaving it off the title. I've been shopping for wheels and read completely through a few ads only to be disappointed when reading the final sentence "Local sale only" and realize the seller is on one of the coasts while I'm in the Midwest.

I always use a little chewing gum on these rides. It filters out the pollutants. Of course you've got some good grillwork there to keep out the ozone. I gotta get this thing up to 95, uh, check out the fluorocarbon output.

Agreed. Kinda douche reply earlier. I've always thought posting an item location would be a great idea. I'd argue 80% of the FS posts don't have a location until someone asks. Plus, it makes it a lot easier to do a geographical search. I could just search for what items are being sold in KY which I'd love to do versus a particular item.
I absolutely agree with posting a location when selling. Great idea.

Click the panjo link at the bottom of his ad where it says: "For more info, click here to view the original listing: 19" S5 Wheels " Location says Roseville, CA, USA.

While I agree with you that it would be a lot easier if the poster just listed his location in the ad, we also shouldn't have to sit here and spoon feed everything to people either. A simple click of the link took me all of 2 seconds to find the location.

i see, i wasn't aware of the panjo having a separate location, i thought it would just show the same thing from the user's profile so never bothered with viewing that listing, just thought it was in diff formats. not all are listed thru panjo either.

I guess another question is, why isn't "location" a mandatory field when creating your profile? Are people that afraid of listing where they live? IE Earth.
