I like how you can use cruise control, depress the clutch to change gears, and the cruise will not shut off. This annoyed me to no end in my previous car.

That's the only way is every worked for me in any car before. Freaked me out when it did this on this car. Haha.

I like that theres a place to insert the gas cap while refeuling that doesn't leave it hanging on the gas cap door (like previous VW's/Audi's I've had) or even worse, hanging out on the fender (like every other car I've had). It's the little things in life, lol.

Today staring at the rear of the car, never noticed the taillights form a box like shape with the side body lines

The eyes. Oh my, the eyes.

On the inside, how all the controls are exactly where they should be, and all have such a nice tactile feel. My last vehicle's control system was apparently designed by a robot and intended to be operated by monkeys.

    This.

This is the only car I've ever had where the widow controls are in the perfect place for my arm/hands. I also really dig the random volume button on the passenger side for some reason.

Also the way the mmi is actually focused/aimed towards the driver. It bothers the shit out of me on other cars how the map/display is pointed straight towards the rear, making it an awkward angle for the driver to view.

May sound weird but I never had a sunglasses compartment and I LOVE IT. Although it's a little small it's WAY better than just having them flying around everywhere or taking a cup holder space.

When you set a GPS destination on the MMI screen, the dash center screen switches from current setting (usually speed in my case) to GPS directions.

If you tap the mode switch on the right stalk, it will change the display directly back to the last information shown (again, speed for me). If you wait more than 5 seconds or so, the mode button will instead scroll through the other screens in sequence.

This design provides the convenience of automatically displaying GPS directions on the center screen, but also respects the fact that you may not want them there, and takes you directly back to what you had displayed prior if you react in the appropriate time frame.

Actually, I'm a bit disappointed that Audi has not gone to a capless system. I had this on my '15 Grand Cherokee Summit.

When you open the trunk its actually opens all the way, not just unlatches like in so many cars. Maybe its a German thing but love it.

And for those of us with NAV, the way the controls are located such that your arm can rest comfortably without having to move much if at all.

The sunglasses holder is basically useless, though. Unless you wear shades that are the size of reading glasses. The compartment is tiny.

    Things:

    • All windows are one-touch down/up, and I like that you can lock them, but the driver can still operate them.
    • I like how everything is lit-up at night. Even the HVAC vent wheels.
    • The Trip 1/2 computer system is so awesome. How many times have you said to yourself, "I wonder how long I've been driving?" Boom, it's there. Or, "I wonder how my gas mileage has been today?" Again, boom, it's right there.

Bingo on this! Works every time as it should. Had a 2013 M3, and after getting tint installed, it pretty much rendered "comfort access" inoperable. It's a known issue with BMW's but thankfully not a problem with Audi's.

    - Grocery bag hooks
    - keyless unlock for all doors
    - beep when you close trunk to confirm the doors are locked
    - larger than normal trunk release and it's centered
    - trunk opens itself when you release or hit the button
    - Adjustable armrest
    - Electronic dipstick (I like the real one, but it's nice to not always have to open the hood)
    - hitting the volume scroll mutes the radio
    - don't have to turn on the cruise every time the car is started

    Things I don't like:

    - scrolling presets through the steering wheel isn't intuitive and takes few steps
    - I hate not being able to lock the car with the door switch when I exit the vehicle
    - no way to advance track on bluetooth with the steering wheel
    - No TPMS and I wasn't able to enable it.

At least it has cup holders... I've owned several bmw's with a dozen ash trays but nowhere to put your damn coffee cup. Maybe it's illegal to eat/drink and drive in Germany but compulsory to smoke.

The lighting in the interior is gorgeous in these cars.

The interior lights dim. Tiny lights by the door handles. Ambient lighting. Although BMW has this, too, it is still nice.

My VW Sportwagen did that as well, so it must be a VAG thing. Prevents you from looking like a tool by leaving your wipers up on the windshield.

    - remembering your heated seat setting. I remember my GTI always shut itself off with the key, I had to VAG Com it to have memory.
    - how comfortable it is. I know you should anyways... but I often just start the engine and relax for a minute or two before putting it in gear. or shutting it off for that matter.

Considering my last two vehicles were in the VAG family, I'm not all that surprised by many things in the S4, the interior "quality" is really fantastic across the brands.

I do like the the gas cap "nuben", the other cars didn't have that.

I like that the trunk fully opens with the release (interior and fob) rather than just cracks open.

The seats in the S4 are probably the best of the bunch.

I think it's neat that the sunroof slides under the roof panel, rather than the typical method of venting then sliding over the top of the roof surface.

That said, the arm rests have all had flaws across all my cars... The A3 and the JSW had the issue with the parking break and the arm rest. And the S4 is all marred up from the "extension rods" that scrape on the back-top surface when you rotate it upwards... Need to find a solution to prevent it from getting worse...
