    Will 2012 A3 rims fit on a 2001 A6 4.2L quattro ?

Hi can anyone please tell me if
    2012 A3 rims fit on a 2001 A6 4.2L quattro.
I have searched and cant find the answer. Even if they fit I am concerned that they wont be able to hold the extra weight of the 4000 pound 01 A6 4.2 ?
    Thanks

They will physically bolt on. But the hub diameter of the A3 is probably 66.x mm. So you'll probably need hub-centering rings.
On top of that if the A3 is FWD then you might need spacers. Most of the wheels supplied on FWD cars have higher offset, so 50/50 they will rub on part of the suspension without a spacer.

The weight capacity is not an issue. Fairly sure all the passenger car rims are made to the same specifications generally, at least until you start getting into some crazy light wheels and special models..

I think the last Audi to use a 57.1 hub was the B7 chassis. Anything newer would be 66.6.

This site lists specs for all imagine production cars and their wheels, pretty easy to figure out what will and will not fit:

    http://www.wheel-size.com/size/audi/

Good news is that actually A3 wheel would proably be a direct fit seeing that it is CB of 57.1 and offset of around 45-50 depending of wheel size.

My pie plate center caps are part # 4B3 601 165A and I have optional 17 rims. That ebay auction lists different part #s will they still fit? I havent been able to find a listing that shows my part number and I read that those hong kong center caps dont fit well and fly off?
    Thanks
