    Happy Monday Azine!

Started driving to work this AM and all of a sudden, the car started bucking/surging under load. Wasn't driving it any different than normal nor was I beating on it.

I pulled over and plugged in a code reader and the only new code that showed up was P0106. Since I've been driving with my MAF unplugged (a whole different issue),

    I experienced the following symptoms:
    • bucking / surging under load, much worse when I come to a stop and have to move the car again
    • boost gauge seems to be acting wonky... vaccum seems to be at normal levels 22-24inHG
    • wideband no longer a steady 14.7-14.9 during cruising

After a quick search, some people have said this was an ECU related issue... but some have said their problems went away with just replacing the MAP sensor?

Any ideas as to what I can do to pinpoint the issue? Doesn't seem like I have a boost leak (I have an APR bi-pipe before someone mentions torn TBB :P). Perhaps logging measuring block 115? I may go ahead and order a new MAP sensor and go from there.

Thanks for any advice / input.

Try cleaning maf first and always start with the small stuff before shelling out loads of money.

This problem occurred with the MAF disconnected.
I reconnected the MAF because I am under the impression the car needs at least one of these to maintain open loop operation.

Clean the throttle body and reset the ecu and tb alignment with vagcom

Replaced the 3-bar sensor with another unit. Symptoms seem to have subsided.

Not sure why the brand new Bosch unit took a dump. Might try to clean it and see if it is re-usable.
