Could someone recommend a sealer? The #1 thing I want is longevity in water beading. I am not as concerned with depth of gloss or other factors as I believe most of the sealants at a "quality" level provide this. This is for my wife's car so I am not as concerned with shine or depth of gloss. I use a touchless system where I air blow water off the cars and I want superior water beading and longevity between waxes.

I DO NOT want to use a ceramic sealant like the one on my car. I want something easy to apply and use.

I am considering Menzerna Jescar Power Lock Polymer Paint Sealant But I have never used this product before

    Thanks in advance

Menzerna power lock is my go to sealant. Its easy to apply and buff off and its well priced compared to other sealants.

I love this ONE: great price and durable. you have to shake it well befire use, but it's pretty slick and easy to apply and remove.

Very interested in this Sonus product. Thanks. Anyone have experience with this product and want to give us all some detail?

I second this. great product and Ive turned all my neighbors onto it as well. Nothing but great feedback. Lasted a good 4 months on my car with weekly washes.

Not sure why you are against a coating as they are not difficult to apply. McKee's has a paint sealant that I've recently began using and it's replaceing all of my LSP's unless I sell my entry package which is an AIO HDSpeed/Poxy sealant.

However, to answer your question, I would go with Collinite 476. Tough as nails and easy to apply and remove. Has strong surface tension for beading and is a synthetic product for longevity.

Hmmmm. this looks good. I may try

I was speaking more to permanent sealers like OPtiCoat Pro where I paid $800 to put it on from a professional. Lots of those ceramic coatings are not that easy to just wipe on and wipe off. This is just for my wifes car.

Hydro2, it could not be easier. After you wash your car you spray it on and hose it off. Done.

What is the longetvity of the product? So far I like the Collinite solution as it about a 1 year product on a car. Looks like its harder to apply, but that is because a lot of people apply it wrong. Apparently you do sections at a time instead of the whole car at once beause once it dries it seems hard to take off.

I use https://www.detailersdomain.com/coll...-sealant-16-oz. Really easy to use and longevity seems pretty good so far.

I see anywhere from 4-6 months. If you don't want the price tag of a 'pro coating' but want the benefits look into something like gloss coat or cquartz, they are easier to work with and last around two years. They really aren't bad to DIY, gloss coat seems user friendly.

Jet Seal or Menzerna Power lock

Give the car a GOOD decon / clay bar / polish w/ CP Reflect or Menzerna SF 4000 / sealant of your choice

If you are just now looking at sealants - may want to look at the the newer Acrylic sealant(s) will add more shine and will last way longer than a Polymer / Cquartz/Opticoat/Xpel/22ple/Modesta etc - and nothing to be scared of to apply like quartz or opticoat.... as easy to apply as a sealant - the real work is the paint prep should you pick either a polymer or a acrylic to get that crazy shine ;)

McKee's has their new Nano Ceramic Coating out and it's awesome. I've had Cquartz and 22Ple...and McKee's holds it's own compared to those. McKee's is Bob McKee's House Brand over at Palm Beach Motoring. Not sure who's product he OEM's but IMO it's likely an OEM of Pinnacle Black Label Diamond Paint Coating. Don't be fooled by the price. I'm moving to it exclusively. Very simple to apply.

Here's some shots of mine after coating it last week.

Were these taken with a dslr or a phone camera bc they look great. I use menzerna powerlock for my entry lvl washes bc of the price and performance but i might need to check this out.

    Car looks awesome.

Looks like you have to do a lot of prep work. Clay and paint prep.

I am trying to avoid a lot of work like that. Car is a 2016, and I don't need it to look as good as my Audi. Just want it to bead water for a long time so I can touchless wash and dry it with a blower easily

I hear ya. Key to it all is polishing though. You can use a Nanoskin glove with soapy water and then Polish it. Hit it with a coating going and be done with it.

Most any wax or sealant like I've noted will produce surface tension but a coating dramatically reduces dust and it's hydrophobic properties will last much much longer. More work up front but less over time.

If you dont want to hand clay - but have a DA - get a Nanoskin or CP Polyshave (i think they are made by the same manufacturer) Super easy to quickly "clay" an entire car

If youre trying to avoid proper prep work - just forget this whole post. Half ass prep will get you half ass results, no matter what product you use. Just go get the wax special at the drive through car wash on the corner.

^ Agree - if you are not the DIY kind of person. But, now you will have a better appreciation the amount of work that a detail business / person puts in to make a vehicle look amazing
And the cost/hourly rate they charge/deserve

Just to add to what everyone is saying. If your car has swirls and holograms, alot of times just polishing with a da will not be enough. Audi paint is pretty tough to cut into so you'll most likely need to compound then polish then sealant of your choice.

Always start with the least aggresive method first in a small test spot till you achieve the results you want.

Sonax Polymer NetShield is a great product for a sealant. Serious water beading and last a good 6 months. As others have said, a coating option will outlast all the sealants.

I just started w/the nanoskin both the wash cloth and polisher disks. If I may ask...do you incorporate the nanoskin once over on your vehicle during routine wash/cleaning cycles? Even if its coated? I am curious as to other users input.
    Thanks

    My routine is:

    Full wash
    Iron X
Suds and ONR Mix and nano the vehicle followed by a final rise. I wash first only because most cars are dirty and iron X will light up as road and brake dust cover everything. Washing first gives me a better view of how bad it is.

None of the above will hurt or impact a coating. I use a fine nano mitt usually. Little to no marring if lubed up well :)

I don't normally do a nano in routine cleaning.

Sounds about the same as I do

Rinse Off - all water to power washer is filtered and water softened (3 stage)
Iron X 4x every 4th or 6th wash (my typical rinse-off per month dependent on driving as few once a week to once every 2 months)
Foam entire vehicle -or- maintenance foam w/Hydro foam
If bad road grim / dirt after 1st foam top 1/2 wash use a sprayer w/de-greaser mixture around entire vehicle wheel height down - separate wash mitt for lower 1/2 of panels and wheels
My lube for the nanoskin either towel or pad is a quick detail spray panel while vehicle is wet - wash mitt upper 1/2 vehicle - this is done every 4/6 months
    Master Blaster Dry
Garage to either detail spray or Reload coating - tire dressing - master blaster interior of dust etc - glass/forte re-treat as needed

    Thanks for your input

for beading longevity on something other than a coating go with Sonax Polymer Net Shield.

To 'boost" or maintain the wax/sealant or coating use Nanolex Wash Coat, this will change everything ; )

I've been using Menzerna Powerlock (now Jascar) for a few years now.....apply it twice a year in spring and fall. Looks amazing, beads well and holds up.....but I top it with Collinite #845 which is also very tough. The other thing I do that was mentioned above is that I add an oz of Optimum No Rinse (ONR) to my wash bucket with my regular wash suds.

How many cars can you do with a can of this? If its only one or two, it would seem that this product is pretty expensive if you have to do it every 6 months or so.
