Please Help: Leaking Brake Fluid Under Pressure

EDIT: All is good now. Power bleeder was leaking fluid onto the ground.

So today started off with the goal of brake pad replacement and SS brake line install (B8.5 A4). I got everything complete, except for the final brake bleed. I am using a Motive power bleeder. I pressurized the system to 15psi. And I noticed alot of fluid under the car and the pressure was dropping on the power bleeder. I expected to find a leak in one of the SS lines I installed. But to my surprised it was about 2 feet diagonally under the car from the passenger front caliper.

Are the hard lines really that sensitive? Is it possible I broke a hard line while installing the brake lines? I was real delicate with it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Odds are it's not the line, but one of the fittings. Any chance you might have crossthreaded a fitting?

I agree. Take apart the SS line and make sure everything looks fine. If so, I would put your other line back on and see if it is still leaking.

    Thanks for the replies!

So I feel really stupid. The problem was with the power bleeder. The brass fittings weren't tight and they were leaking fluid into the engine compartment and onto the ground. Since it got dark I couldn't see this happening. When I got up early this morning to look at it again, problem was obvious. Bled the brakes and now everything appears good. No more leaks.

    Thanks!
