New project car, a couple of questions.

Bought a 2001 audi a6 quattro this past April with 86k miles for a steal of $250. Bought the car for a project car completely because I had owed a 01 Jetta GLX VR6 2.8 in the past and I just fell in love with German made vehicles lol. The car had been sitting for 3/4 years with both passenger windows busted out, never being turned over due to the man I bought it from not having a key for it at first (bought from a title loan auction for $700 originally, but there wasnt a key with it). Been doing little tuneup stuff to it here and there, had to replace the passenger side windows and have a key programmed by someone other than an Audi dealer due to my location. I picked up VAGCOM and bought a cable to check for codes. Pulled a bunch of codes but I'm trying to work out the major ones first. One of them that caught my attention is this one.

    Controller: 3B0 907 551 BH
    Component: 2.8L V6/5V G 0002
    Coding: 07252

As far as I know, the ECM/ECU has never been changed out, by my hand anyway. Ive bought two new CCMs since I've had the thing in my yard due to a drain clog being filled with shit and whoever installed the subs put a hole in the firewall on the driverside and didn't seal it up. I've checked everywhere on how to do this, tried multiple times, but every time I try to recode, it reverts back to the original that is in the above code. From what I've read and whatnot, that coding seems wrong. I also have the 4 digit SKC code that Audi usually makes you pay an arm and a leg for. Luckily the keysmith I had come up to program the key for the immobilizer wrote it down for me. I'm able to login to the ECU with it, but it still reverts after I try to save it. Any help would be GREATLY appreciated.

I'll give that place a look over, the car drives, but definitely has some issues. Just trying to fix little stuff at a time, still sitting on my DD until I figure out what I want to do with this thing lmao

Check nefmoto. Only way I could do it. You can change cluster code or program ecu with cluster code.

FWIW you do not need the 'key code' or SKC to recode the ECU. That is only needed to program secure / antitheft stuff such as matching a different cluster or ECU to the car or programming keys.
Recoding the engine ECU / SOFT coding only requires you click the 'login' button with VCDS..I can't remember, but it's a standard number like 40195 or something. If youu over your mouse over the LOGIN button usually a window pops up with what to enter.
Then you simply go to SOFT coding and change the coding if needed.
If other modules such at the TCU or ABS have certain errors active then it can cause problems trying to recode the ECU. See if there are any other errors, clear all that you can and try again.
Sometimes the engine module will be correctly coded but an error with the ABS/ TCU will cause that error to show up.
