    Car bogging down/Hesitating while driving.

More issues with my P.O.S Audi!

Long story short a couple months back I had water in my gas. Drained the tank as much as I could. Ran fine(well as much as it does) well I let my tank get to 1/4 and all of a sudden I started getting hesitation issues.

I replaced the fuel filter, filled it up and now the car will bog down while driving(only driving) check engine light will start blinking, will go away. Car will start driving normal, happen again. Etc... I am afraid to drive it anywhere.

I cleaned the MAF sensor, still didn't resolve anything. I don't think it's plugs or coils as the plugs were replaced after the gas issue. I'm thinking injectors but don't want to shell out a lot of money if they aren't.

I don't have VAGCOM, and to bring it to a Euro shop just to hook a scanner up to it they'll charge me $100

    Any help would be appreciated!

Blinking CEL, a catalyst damaging misfire is occurring.. sounds like some residual amount of water still in the tank. May need to run the fuel level down near 1/4 tank and the flush the rest out at the fuel rail before filling up again.

Wont it just tell me it's misfiring though?

Bring it to a local Auto Zone or Advance Auto to have it scanned so you know where to start. You might only be shown a misfire code but knowing which cylinder is misfiring is a starting point.

Flashing CEL is obviously misfire codes, I agree it sounds like there is still water in the tank. If you can get it to misfire while its idling, you can unplug one ignition coil at a time and see if there is one cylinder that has no change when you unplug it. If that's the case then you can look at that cylinders coil, spark plug and injectors. But I'm betting there is still some water or moisture in the fuel system.

Check your coil pack harness. They are known to crack and fray. Also check the injector harness as well. ECS has a reasonably coil harness kit and you can find injector pigtails on ebay and just cut and splice. Also try seafoaming your engine and put some in the tank too.

it is VERY difficult to remove any type of water from your fuel system. i'd proceed to follow ALL procedures to remove even the slightest amount of water entirely.

sounds like you're having a misfire related to ignition. inspect plugs, coils, and coil harness. could also be your vacuum system, my most recent b6 had similar random issues, it so happened that the Suction Jet Pump was split allowing for unmetered air to enter the intake manifold. once repaired all issues went away.

Well I went ahead and changed a coil pack. Drove it around for a little bit and got it up to 80mph and didn't have any problems.. I will have to drive it around some more(not to far as I don't want to have to get a flat bed to pick it up for the 3rd time) as I think a coil pack is to easy with my luck.
