    Hey all,

Currently looking at a 2012 S4 with ADS and sport diff, black wig DSG. Passed inspection at Audi and got new pads and rotors front and rear. It has 73k on it and I'm apprehensive about getting into a higher mileage car, although getting out of my current high mileage 07 335 is an awesome idea. Any thoughts? Price is 24k at a mainline dealership...

Key concern besides reliability: how boring are these cars without suspension and ECU work, which will take me a little time to get to? In two years when it has 100k on it, what will it be worth?

24K seems like a good deal. These cars without a tune will outperform your 335 unless you have it tuned of course. Overall it's a good car even at that mileage. And since it's a 12' it should have the Get 1.5 DSG, I think. Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Definitely outperform my 335, but the other car it's up against would be a 135. So better DD vs better track/canyon car.

Hmm. Yeah I see what you mean. I'd go with the S4 because it has for potential for handling and performance. Whereas the 135 isn't a good dd if you were to compare

We don't allow previous 335i owners to join the club! Oh, I forgot that I had one between my B6 and B8 S4. so you're good! Only problem will be that you will will not miss the 335i. If you find a car with adjustable suspension, you might be happier. Also a Chipwerke Plug and play tune might fit the bill if you don't want to tune the ECU. Similar to a Juice Box or Turbo Tuner.

I came from a ~300 CHP stage 2 A4. I was happily surprised the performance was much more of a step up than anticipated. I've been driving for over a year on stock ecu. Definitely will be tuning the car when it's more financially responsible of me, but it's still enough to put a smile on my face!

This is definitely reassuring. I've thought about the chipwerkes, just hadn't seen how well they interact with this ECU. Food for thought though.

Don't see the point jumping from one high-mileage car to another... Why don't you wait until you can afford something newer?

I wouldn't normally consider 73k to be high mileage, but I don't really know as much about these cars. As far as waiting for something else, I'm just tired of wrenching on this car. It's had a rough year, lol.

You might want to check into the cost of an extended warranty. I know these cars are not plentiful(especially 6MTs) and the newer the model and the lower the mileage, the higher the asking price will be. Have you done a search for any other S4s on autotrader.com? Always good to check out all the alternatives.

Yeah I had a little bit, this appears to be the best priced in relation to the mileage and I get the feeling it would've been gone at 26k if we were back east or in CO. It was even a joke with friends, I was bitching about the price on them and poof, this one pops up 6 mi from my house. Having a buddy that owns a shop and was an Audi/VW tech isn't helping. Lol

Thanks to all that replied, my mind got made up for me. Sold back to the dealership next door and now listed at 27k.

Sorry, they sold it back to the dealer that originally had it.
