I purchased his RS4 Style grille a little over a week ago form Panjo. I have been looking for a RS4 grille for a while now and always seem to miss my chance on ads on here. I was "lucky" enough to see the add quick enough and was able to make a deal on Panjo for $113 shipped. Well turns out he somehow underestimate the cost of shipping and asked for an extra $15 to ship it since he couldn't find anything under $85 to ship after I had provided him a quote from FedEx for $40 shipped with $150 insurance. He replied back saying FedEx was charging him $50 to ship so I gave in and paypaled the extra $15. Package arrive Friday 8/26. I immediately opened the box to find the grill with no support on either side of the grille(he wrapped the grille with a thin sheet of foam you would wrap a cup in). Under inspection I noticed that under the emblems was cracked in multiple places. I contacted the seller as soon as I found the damage and he doesn't think its bad and claims its "minor" damage. He say I could go to FedEx and open a claim since he insured it for $100....... I explained that the buyer cannot initiate a claim since the buyer didn't actually pay FedEx for the shipping of the item(even though I payed him to pay them.....stupid shit). I have done the claims dance with every shipping company and know they will claim that the item was not packaged right(which it wasn't) and will not pay him(not me since i didn't ship the item) the $100 insurance. He offered to refund me the whopping $15 dollars I payed "extra" for shipping. He kept pushing that the cracks were minor thing and that the part was for aesthetics only. Im not about to pay $128 for a cracked grille, I was fine with the rock chips but not a cracked grille. I kept trying to explain that he would need to contact FedEx but he said he didn't have time to start a claim since he's heading overseas next month. He offered to refund me the money if I paid to ship it back. I didn't see how me spending $50 to ship a broken part back only to get $78 back after shipping helped me in any way, and the likely hood if the grille arriving in 1 piece back was highly unlikely. I'm new to the Audi scene, but have been a long time member of the 300ZX and have shipped a number of things that have been lost a broken and have had to eat the cost of losing the part or paying for the part to be shipped back to me. I decided to pull up the Panjo ad and looked over the pictures more clearly, and to me the cracks were already there prior to being shipped. I have attached the before and after pictures to show the community the kind of condition the grille was sent in and the condition it arrived in. I will attach more of how the item was packaged tomorrow when I wake up.
