    B8-sf horrible seller!!!! Buyer beware

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I purchased his RS4 Style grille a little over a week ago form Panjo. I have been looking for a RS4 grille for a while now and always seem to miss my chance on ads on here. I was "lucky" enough to see the add quick enough and was able to make a deal on Panjo for $113 shipped. Well turns out he somehow underestimate the cost of shipping and asked for an extra $15 to ship it since he couldn't find anything under $85 to ship after I had provided him a quote from FedEx for $40 shipped with $150 insurance. He replied back saying FedEx was charging him $50 to ship so I gave in and paypaled the extra $15. Package arrive Friday 8/26. I immediately opened the box to find the grill with no support on either side of the grille(he wrapped the grille with a thin sheet of foam you would wrap a cup in). Under inspection I noticed that under the emblems was cracked in multiple places. I contacted the seller as soon as I found the damage and he doesn't think its bad and claims its "minor" damage. He say I could go to FedEx and open a claim since he insured it for $100....... I explained that the buyer cannot initiate a claim since the buyer didn't actually pay FedEx for the shipping of the item(even though I payed him to pay them.....stupid shit). I have done the claims dance with every shipping company and know they will claim that the item was not packaged right(which it wasn't) and will not pay him(not me since i didn't ship the item) the $100 insurance. He offered to refund me the whopping $15 dollars I payed "extra" for shipping. He kept pushing that the cracks were minor thing and that the part was for aesthetics only. Im not about to pay $128 for a cracked grille, I was fine with the rock chips but not a cracked grille. I kept trying to explain that he would need to contact FedEx but he said he didn't have time to start a claim since he's heading overseas next month. He offered to refund me the money if I paid to ship it back. I didn't see how me spending $50 to ship a broken part back only to get $78 back after shipping helped me in any way, and the likely hood if the grille arriving in 1 piece back was highly unlikely. I'm new to the Audi scene, but have been a long time member of the 300ZX and have shipped a number of things that have been lost a broken and have had to eat the cost of losing the part or paying for the part to be shipped back to me. I decided to pull up the Panjo ad and looked over the pictures more clearly, and to me the cracks were already there prior to being shipped. I have attached the before and after pictures to show the community the kind of condition the grille was sent in and the condition it arrived in. I will attach more of how the item was packaged tomorrow when I wake up.

Wow, that is some bullshit. I saw this classified, and wanted to jump on it, but was put off due to the S4 badge. When I was selling my stock grille in the box my RS4 grille came in, UPS was the cheapest to ship from NY to WA at around $28, but FedEx was just behind them at around $33, so I can understand why this would have been so expensive with no added weight for protection. I would just dispute it with PayPal if worse came to worst.

Looking at the pics you've posted, I'd almost bet that the grille was already cracked prior to shipping. If you bought through Panjo, they should have some sort of buyer protection and if you used Paypal, certainly dispute it with them. I've bought a lot of stuff from these classifieds and only gotten burned by one member. It took a few months to get my $ back, but I did. Be diligent and don't let the seller balk on his duty as the seller.
    Thanks,\

If you zoom in to the original pictures, under the emblem you can see what looks like the same cracks (light hits the damage and looks funny) and same goes for the crack by the rock chip damage. There is also a chunk missing from the back by the emblems that is no where in the box so it was broken before going into the box.....

UPDATE: The seller would not comply. I contacted Panjo and they tried to contact the seller but he still would not respond. I sent Panjo pictures of the damage before and after the shipping and they agreed it was damaged prior to shipping or damaged during shipping due to the poor packaging. They refunded my full cost and so did paypal after I explained I payed the extra shipping. I recommend no one else do business with this seller and always use Panjo if at all possible.
