    Alternator or Voltage Regulator Problem

    I had my battery light come on while driving and tested the battery and alternator. The battery was fine, so being cheap, I decided to just replace the voltage regulator. After replacing it, I have a god awful noise coming from the voltage regulator, and the battery light is still on. It's definitely not a belt squeal. Here's a short video:

    Maybe I didn't install it right? Seemed pretty straight forward...

    While you're driving does the battery voltage ever jump up? My light would come on while driving but voltage would spike sometimes. Better yet and alternator tested fine. I replaced the alternator with one I had lying around and it worked fine.
