So with labor added to these parts prices:
    A. HFC for $350 (NO test pipe)
    B. Tiptonic downpipe for $260"
    C. "Not bad for the money" ebay FMIC for $280 or
    D. Save for A+B together
    E. Something else?

By all means do the mods, but if I were you I would make sure maintenance is up to date first. Assuming the timing belt and water pump have been replaced, make sure you cam follower, timing chain and tensioner, carbon build up, engine mounts, shockies, fuel filter, injectors etc are all in good working order.

At 95k now, I'm lucky and all that was done by previous owner under CPO warranty it looks like based on service records, in fact it looks like it had a complete cam failure and repair only 15k ago and may have had a whole engine change... BUT, I'm definitely gonna have it all, including timing belt, checked out by my guy first... It really does run, idle, and pull pretty nicely so I think I should be close to ready to go.

Heh, ya, a step colder plugs to go with tune for sure... I did do new stock Bilstein shocks in the front already but will be doing coilovers later as well.

Ya, Techtonics Tuning has a downpipe for the Tip trans for "only" $260 so that along with HFC would give pretty nice flow until I did cat-back later.

an expensive or even a moderate $$$$ exhaust will only yield a 5% increase over stock. ing a DP and HFC() will free up 95% compared to Stock Cat and DP. Imo an exhaust is the less bang for the buck being spent as even the cheapest $$$$ is about $800-$1000. $$$$ that can be spent elsewhere for real . I have learned to get on a friendly budget

Thanks, this is what I figured as well... I have heard the stock exhaust is pretty decent flowing so I'll focus on HFC and down pipe.

Ive heard that this OBX downpipes fits the Tiptonic tranny.

I bought one to try out but have not tried to fit it yet, we will see. Are you getting a JHM tune?

Wow, that would be great if it fits around the big Tip tranny, please let me know! I was gonna go with a Revo tune since my shop does them but I do have the option for JHM, APR and maybe more in my area too.

I did find Stasis and an OBX exhaust for $650, but still, I can get both down pipe and HFC for $600 so I'll definitely worry about exhaust later if it's only 5% flow difference.

Ya, good question, hopefully that's higher flow?

So it's 2.5" so maybe that's why it fits, but please let me know if it does as it's $100 cheaper than the Techtonics and would be worth trying out at that price point.
