Dielectic Grease on the Coil Pack?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Is it recommended to put dielectric grease in the coil pack during a spark plug and coil pack replacement? I'm accustomed to using it on spark plug boots, but this, obviously, is different. I'm thinking yes, a thin layer on the connector but I figured I'd ping the experts here first.

I did search but I didn't see this particular (very newbie, sorry) question.

    Thanks.

I've been doing it for as long as I can remember. I just apply the grease to the contact surface on the coil, then stick it in.

Separate question. Two of the new coil packs, in their boxes, fell to my garage floor from about a 3' height. Should I be concerned? Are they fairly delicate?

Interestingly enough, the OEM coil packs come pre-greased, so no need for me to add anything. I took a photo but it's not too clear.

I put a dab of grease around the seal too. My original coils had some issues in that area. But I've got an oil burner too, so my plugs get changed a lot. lol
