    12.7 @ 108 Mostly Bone Stock

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I was going to the track hoping for a 12.99 mostly stock and left very pleased. I went 12.7 and then two passes of 12.8. All stock except ECS intake and I took the spare tire out and put 100 octane in due to heat and humidity.

I love when people use the word "bone stock" and then list a modification.

Totally believable time though. I ran 12.8@107 completely bone stock back in 2011. I also trapped as high as 108.3 on another run. Conditions were good, but not ideal. Only made one trip to the 1/4 mile stock. I definitely could have improved on my best if I took it a couple more times.

Lol. True. Intakes are generally considered "noise makers", yes? Still not "bone stock" so maybe a title change is in order.

Very impressive time on your 350Z in your sig, by the way! I love DIYer's.

I thought intakes were generally good for a few ponies. I bought mine because a poster here was the tester for Injen and he witnessed the dyno testing and they weren't cherry picking which dyno to use for the published gains. IIRC, they threw out the high and the low.

Intake gains are negligible... But it does gain something and hence not "bone stock"

Skip the 1/4 mile and get on a dyno I kid, I kid. But seriously, I'm pretty sure he ran at Cecil. Posted in the local forum mentioning he would be there this past Friday. People have run really good times there, might be the elevation or something. Be interested in seeing the slips too .

For whatever reason, Cecil is just a fast track. And a good one. Quite a few milestones/records/best times have been set there.

Last rental i went to in November, was all car makes and from anywhere really. One side for slicks/radials and the other for street tires. $100 to run all day 10-4(?). Plus he catered a food truck, lol.

I will make a thread (or he will) when the time is closer

MIR is also considered a very fast track although I have never run my best times there in any of my cars or bikes. Maybe because it was always 300dg out there when I went! GPS says Cecil is 2 hours from me. I may have to make the trip one T&T.

How is tech at Cecil? Capitol Raceway once tech'ed me recently and said I need to drain my coolant and run straight water. I gave him the "really?" look and he let me go through. MIR is generally lax.

The car is a 2013 with DSG and it was run at Cecil. The conditions were not great, it was in the 80s and humid but can't complain. I'm planning on going back later in the year when its cooler. Here are my 3 slips.

I don't believe so, the car is Audi certified and was inspected prior to my purchasing it. So if it was tuned prior it would had to have been reset to stock or it would have been flagged.

    Awesome times, congrats!

Cecil is very fast. Elevation is about 360ft. That's my "local" track and where I ran 11.8 on stage 2 93 oct, 11.65 on dual pulley 93 oct. and 12.9 bone stock. Tech? Ha. They once asked me to put shoes and long pants on then walked away, saw me 5 minutes later clearly without them without batting an eye. Never once did they look at my car or ask me anything about it and I've taken her there about 15 times now. I did get yelled at once for driving about 10 feet in the staging lane with my hood up though. Said if I did it again I'd have to leave.

What was your MPH on the runs? Capitol is 300ft and MIR 80ft. I think I once saw a DA of -1800 the day after Thanksgiving a few years back at Capitol. MPH was crazy, but traction sucked.

Excellent data. Great to see the evolution of mods and their effects on E.T./MPH, thanks for sharing. That last pic is brilliant!

For your APR stage 2 run was that with V3.0? I'm trapping that now almost to the decimal. My 1st trip to the track I had V1.0 APR stage 2 and trapped 106-108. Flashed to V3.0 and ran 111. TCU tune brought me to a high of 114.75. All runs were with a DA of +1600 - +2000. Best E.T. was 12.2. Haven't tried icing the SC yet. Every pass I've ever made the SC was too hot to leave your hand on it for more than a few seconds, even with nearly an hour of cool down time. I would do the IC pump mod if I didn't fear for the health of the pump running 100% all the time. May install a switch.

V3, yes. I'd install the switch. Leaving the ice on the supercharger is much more effective with the coolant circulating. The best solution I've found to date is a bag on the supercharger and one wrapped around the AWE reservoir with the pump constantly running. Just make sure to wrap the ice in a trash bag, the bags ice comes in leak all over the place...

No way a near stock '13 is trapping that high in 80 degree weather without a tune. You should find someone to log your car to see what your boost looks like.
