    Carista app issues

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I've already emailed carista but I just thought if you guys had the same experience.

First of all, doing anything, checking codes, customizing, etc, takes for ever to list. It takes like 20 mins everytime I hit customize to display the customization options.

Secondly, the customization options change everytime I go to it after the long ass wait.

Thirdly, the main thing i wanted the app for was to see codes and program my key to roll windows down. It says that's an available feature on carista website for the b8 model. I however, no matter how many times I restart the app and wait through the loading customization menu, I don't see the key fob option. The only thing it gives me is to retract just my passenger side mirror lol. Not even driver side and I don't have motorized mirrors.

    Any suggestions? Thanks in advance

maybe a little exaggerated lol. but, it takes forever, especially when you sit there watching the screen.

Definitely takes a long time. I have the option for the Windows but when I try and change it, it says something along the lines of I have to change another option first even though there is no other option.

yea. i dont get that option at all. I initially got the option to fold both my side mirrors, then it became just my passenger side mirror. i dont even have power mirrors. im lost. i got to add a lap timer though which i still have yet to figure out how to reset lol. changed my back up radar tone but i dont know how it sounds.

What really bugs me is how the customization options go in and out with each "boot up". strange

Carista works ok for me, about 2min to load the menus, a few seconds to save each setting change. I got the window mod working but it decided to stop randomly, I need to add it again I guess. I turned on the "oil temp, lap timer" but I don't see how to add it. Also, there was a setting for "enable hidden menu" but I can't find the menu???

Heres what needs to be done for the windows. Make sure all is checked like they say. You must enable it in the mmi after using carista.
    http://www.caristaapp.com/2015/06/27...a4s4-b8-or-q5/

Once the hidden menu is enabled in carista you have to enable it in the mmi with specific button pushes, this is different with pre and post facelift.

Only the passenger mirror will tilt in reverse and your mirror knob on the door has to stay to the right all of the time for it work. The mirror will go back up after going 9 mph in the forward direction.

Yes you reset the lap timer witht the button on the bottom of the right stalk.

Lastly, no need to start a new thread about this when there are two extensive threads about carista.

Mine prompted me to update today. I had to uninstall the app and download the new version. Worked very well after that.

I have a hard time using carista because it seriously takes like 20 minutes or more to connect. I have a b8.5

so update for you guys. I emailed the carista folks. Based on the error message that i sent to the devs, they deemed my obd2 adapter as defective. I actually have the carista obd2 adapter instead of another generic one. In any case, i was told that once i return the defective one to amazon, they will send me a new one and also give me a 1-2 week access to the pro app. Will update once i get the new "non defective" adapter and app access.

Maybe this is the case for whoever's app and adapter doesnt work as intended?

I have the official carista obd2 and it works great for me. no problems. so the defective thing may be right.

update. I got a replacement for the defective one and the devs gave me permission to use the pro features without having to pay for it. I dont know how long that's for. But the new adapter works and i was able to do everything i wanted to with the app. So that's good.

However, there is quite a bit on inconsistency with the app in terms of the customization menu is gives us. It does change from reboot to reboot so idk what the issue is there and neither do the devs. Maybe interference from other bluetooth devices which are in my house?? maybe. For those that had issue with the device, go ahead and contact the devs as they are more than helpful.
