2009 S5 4.2. My home link just died yesterday for no apparent reason. The garage door opens with the garage door opener, so it's not that. I checked the fuse- OK. Tried to recallibrate the cars homelink with no luck. Any ideas?? Thanks

Does the LED on the headliner button light up when you press it?

Did you check the home link transmitter behind the grille to make sure it's connected?

Do you have a spectrum analyzer such as Ubiquiti Airview or similar to check when the home link is supposed to be transmitting to see if it actually is? Most garage doors transmit in the 900Mhz range so a scanner that covers that band will tell you if the transmitter is actually transmitting.
