    AWM Engine Rebuild Help

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
I need help with rebuilding this engine. The pistons were shot due to the timing belt giving. The head is useless. I need piston dimensions and any other info needed to purchase the correct parts online. Is it a good idea to just rebuild the motor or take another path. I've been looking for entire motors online but haven't found anything solid. My daily driver has been down for alost 2 months now. I seriously need help.

Go to integrated engineering... you can get all parts and built block and head or race engine.

The pistons should be fine. Might have a couple little chips in them. The head should be OK as well the valves on the other hand most of those are probably shot. Just strip the head all the way down have it resurfaced and just put all new valves in it. You can get it all done for probably 300 bucks and a few cuss words and time.

I just need links where I can find this stuff for a decent price. I'm thinking of buying an engine rebuild kit and another head. What else besides the pistons should I worry about inside the block?

Def agree interpreted eng def pick up the crank dowel pin with 4 bolts holding it down coz once over 300hp stock one is fugazi. Intake manifold and the forge rods for sure. A head I would just grab one aeb but use awm valve cover and cam chain tensioner use one from awm on aeb, get a hemi throttle, green giant injectors and t3 med level turbo. And u good

What are the dimensions of the pistons and all the parts associated with it?

I have a box of AWM rods and pistons. Let me know if interested. It is easier to just pick up a used cylinder head from a junk yard and have it decked. If you trust cleaning that cylinder will suffice, go for it. As for tolerances when it comes for new piston rings...

I suggest Goetze rings. Brush research hone tools are cheap. I personally use a 3M roloc disc to clean surfaces. As for valves, pick up used ones on ebay and just lap them in. If they slide up the guides they are ok. But the head being bent is a different story. And check your guides. That is why I said it may be easier just sourcing a used head, and cheaper.
I hate it when my car acts like a little bitch, treating me like a bitch
