ITG Performance Filters NOW AVAILABLE at Griffin Motorwerke

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
ITG products are regularly used at the top level of motorsport, most notably including F1, World Super Bikes, 24 hours of Le Mans and WRC. This close association with the pinnacle of motorsport translates to the best possible filtration and increased air flow solutions for your road car.

ITG's foam technology is industry-leading (proven by their use in Formula 1 racing). Unlike the common cotton gauze filters, these foam filters will perform equally as well as new after being cleaned and re-oiled. We offer ITG's line of OE replacement filters (ProFilter) as well as their universal fit conical and cylindrical filters (Maxogen) for those of you wanting to upgrade the filter in your aftermarket intake kit.

We've just added S6/S7 and RS7 filters to our line up. These are a great option for those not wanting to go the full intake route. These filters exceed the competition in performance and longevity.

Just ordered! There aren't too many filter options for the C7 so I'm going to give this a shot.

Here's a mini review of the ITG filter in my A7.

After unboxing, the new filter felt very light. Not a bad thing, just an observation.

Installation was, well, as easy as replacing a filter. I will add that the ITG may be 1/16th of an inch taller. So when I put the round tube adapter back on, I had to use a little force to compress the filter, then twist and lock it on.

I took it for a few hot laps immediately after. It sounds a bit louder than the k&n, it's definitely not quieter. Can't speak much for horsepower gains, but it just looks and feels like it flows a bit more.

In conclusion, I really wanted to try a foam filter and AFAIK, there are only 3 available: Revo, Pipecross, and ITG. I tried to order the Pipecross from ebay, but it wouldn't ship to the US. The Revo is $130, and almost pulled the trigger until Griffin posted this thread. I would definitely recommend this filter and will probably keep it in as long as it lives. Nothing wrong with the k&n, but the ITG just feels right.

Is that mating surface to the intake adapter all foam?

It's all foam, but I can't recall if the mesh lining wraps all the way to that surface. I can check.

Interesting. I wonder how well that will hold up over time. There's a lot of pressure at that mating surface. Did the connector fit pretty snug into the filter?

The Pipercross I got has rubber ends capping the foam. The side mating to the intake pipes is rubber and fit very snug. I had to put the filter on the cap side first to get it to mate properly.

Everything was pretty snug. I may remove/reinstall it today just for the hell of it. I rushed the install a little bit last night just to try it out.
