How many miles out of a set of tires?

I got some tar on my front tire in my parking lot yesterday. I know I can get it off (with a lot of effort), but I remember at the 15k apt the dealership mentioning something about needing new tires soon. How many miles are people getting on their tires? I have the 20" wheels, 2016 S6. I'm trying to decide if to try to get the tar off or just replace the towers.

I have the stock P-Zeros on '16 S6. Had gone in to get a replacement because the front tire got into an argument with the curb and the curb won. Had a big tear on the sidewall but amazingly didn't pop. Anyway, dealer measured my tires said I had about 70% left on them. Suggested I change just the front 2. I was a little over 13k miles.

Guessing tire wear depends on how your driving style and conditions of the roads.

10k miles on 20" P-Zero PNCS. Between 6/32-7/32 left but all 4 tires are feathered and are getting noisy.

Alignment is fine. Case has been opened with Pirelli by my dealer.

Good point. I looked through the dealer notes, they didn't mention tread but said one tire had a small bubble. I guess I'll try to get the tar off - tires should still have some life to them.

I got ~25k out of the Pzeros. Could have gone to 30k probably, but I got a bad puncture in one so I swapped out for MPSS.

8K on my OEM Yokohamas and they are significantly worn, I expect I'll need new ones within 4-5K miles.

What are your thoughts comparing the PZeros and the MPSS's?

I couldn't wait to take the Pzero off because after about 10k miles they start to get really noisy. The PSS are still somewhat noisy compared to the PSS on my other car so I'm going to get my alignment double checked. As far as handling goes they feel a little sharper and more confidence inspiring.

I've got about 22k on my PSS right now and recently have been pricing for their replacements. I had stock P-Zero on at first and maybe got 15k out of them before I couldn't tolerate the excessive noise anymore.

I would love to have the PSS again, but since I've move from TX to GA and now have a longer commute to work, I'm leaning towards A/S 3+ or Conti DW since I can likely get ~45-50k out of them.

Stock PZeroes will get you to 15-20k miles but be prepared for horrendous cabin noise levels after 10k. I have used Michelin PSS- 22k mi on them but damn good grip and it also included a track day. Now I have Michelin A/S3, still pretty good in terms of grip but quieter compared to previous 2 sets. I have about 20k miles on them now with plenty of treadlife left.

I think I can help us all with this issue, tire wear and noise is 100% dependent on a correct alignment. Bad part is the spec on our cars does not prioritize tire wear. When put on an alignment machine it will show green and could still cause tire wear. I'm not sure why the specs are set this way.
There is nothing I hate more then hearing chopped up tire roar on the highway.
I ordered spc adjustable control arms for my car so I can adjust the front camber.

If any of you have a printout I will help you as much as possible.

Our cars are non adjustable camber in the front other then shifting the subframe( not much adjustment).

For refrence my wife drives a VW passat wagon, spec in the green destroys the rear tires. I believe spec was close to -1.5 or so in the rear.
I adjusted it to -.65 and the new tires are wearing perfect.

Our cars alignment specs are similar, to much negative camber causing feathering/chop.
To minimize this the camber needs to be closer to -.50 degrees.
My car currently in the front is -1.5 and is causing unneeded tire wear. It is also lowered which adds to this problem.
The rear can be adjusted enough to stop tire wear. I have it set to -.75 with no issues currently.
Once I install adjustable control arms and adjust the front camber I'll report back.
