    How does anyone actually replace rear Calipers???

    Does anyone have a trick for removing the rear caliper carrier bolts? I have found it to be nearly impossible without stripping the bolts themselves. There is no way to get clean leverage using a breaker bar with the space provided. I have to use a u joint adaptapor on the bar itself to even get at it. Maybe my breaker bar is too long? I have heard people say to try and use a jack to lift the breaker bar while holding the socket on the bolt. Any other tricks? How do the shops do it?

    Right but the bottom carrier bolt is not accessible from underneath either, only from the side

    I haven't removed mine either but I got a ratcheting breaker bar which helped with the front tremendously. I think it was like $25 from Amazon.

    I was able to get them off with a swivel joint on my 1/2" wrench. Messed up the swivel joint a bit though as they are on their good.

    Use the box end of a normal wrench on the bolt. Then on the open end, interlock the next smaller wrench size you have down and that will make a wrench with enough leverage to get the bolt loose. Do the same to get enough torque to tighten them back up on reinstall.

    In case you're wondering what I'm talking about...



    Helps to have a set of these too... go buy some if you don't have any. In tight places where you can't line up a normal wrench to engage a bolt head without interference from something.

    Some others have posted that you dont even need to remove the caliper carrier to remove the rotor? Is that the case???
