anyone compared the different LED suppliers?

Guest-only advertisement. Register or Log In now!
Looking to redo my interior with LED's. Really miss the quality of light that my 2015 GTI had compared to the 2011 with the regular bulbs. Looking at a few different suppliers.

deautokey worth the price compared to places like www.superbrightleds.com?

I'm assuming the amazon buy 10 for $15 is probably junk

these car are very sensitive to LED.. I tried 3 set so far and all had error or flinkering led... so altought they look EXACTLY the same.. i would stick to a namebrand and buy from them instead of bulding your own kit and ending up wit some flickering ligth like I do, or simply an error in the dash that is really annoying lol.

I have deAutoLED's- full interior, stage 2 puddles, footwells, and reverse LED's. I've posted up reviews in their thread, quite pleased. They usually have like 15% off plus free shipping and lifetime warranty on their bulbs. Their customer service is also exceptional and responds to your inquiries very quickly.

I bought a set of ZIZA led's from ECS when they had them on sale (that was the only way i could justify spending so much on LED's). no errors or any issues and i'm happy with the way they look

deAuto seems to be the brightest.

I have some cheap kit I bought off ebay. Works great but I might upgrade the foot-well(Mine are stock) and trunk lights with ones from deAuto.

I will be going with the LED strip for the trunk so it lights everything up properly.

    http://deautokey.com/product/univers...all-car-models

Bit expensive for my tastes though so I might try DIYing my own solution first.

Went with Ziza when Ecs had their sale, everything installed quickly and easily, no errors, no flickers. Went with deautokey for the red foot wells, be warned, the back seat foot wells are an absolute pain in the ass to install. Quality product though.
Difference between factory and deautokey footwell lights
Although the contact points are shorter, I have had zero issues in the ~2 weeks since install.

Hi, we appreciate everyone's support and suggesting our company.

We do say it a lot but we care how our LEDs work and look in your car.

SBL is very expensive - you are looking at double the price of our interior LED Kit if you piece it together and we have many emails from people who purchased from SBL but we don't want to share it all but we will share a public post:
    http://www.audizine.com/forum/showth...nterior-lights

We receive emails almost daily from people who bought LEDs from other brands who then email us with the same line.. "I purchased LEDs from (...) and I had issues, will YOURS do this?" We hate seeing this as we feel one bad experience with any LED and all our advertising and us saying how we guarantee/test our LEDs goes out the door.

We feel many of our pricing reflects the actual product. For example our trunk LED strip (http://deautokey.com/product/univers...all-car-models) has the adapters and are all plug and play so you don't have to splice wires. On top of that our trunk strip WON'T dim when your car lights shut off which is a common issue with some DIY trunk strips - ours won't dim when voltage varies in your car.

You also don't have to gamble and guess when you shop with us, you really don't know what you are buying with amazon/ebay until it arrives, we have some of the only Error free LEDs on the market for certain models.

waxxonMTL - makes a great point here as many LEDs will look alike - we compare it to old 100w incandescent bulbs - they all look the same but some can be 25w 50w and have different brightness, colors, filaments etc. We compare this to LEDs where the resistors, solder, and diodes can all be different and work differently even though they look exactly the same - there is only so many ways to make an LED and we don't want to reinvent the wheel, we just want to make it better. We have had people contact us saying that they bought another brand because it looked like ours but it caused errors or flickered, they ask if ours will do this and sometimes we cannot blame the person, they saw an LED that looked like ours sell for half the price so why not try it.

We feel at the end of the day you will spend more money trying to find a good LED and have the stress of dealing with returns.

mike907 - we went with the shorter prongs on the LED footwell because we found when we made them the same length people had issues installing them, it is more difficult to install them with longer prongs vs shorter so that is why we went with the shorter prong.

We are not saying our LEDs are perfect - all electronics can have defects but we have a Lifetime Warranty if you do run into any issues. We mention this because our defect rate is very low for electronics as we test and run quality assurance test to avoid any issues.

    Recent feedback:

Our customer service is virtually available 24/7 and we always reply quickly to all emails:

    Small sample of emails:

Small sample of feedback from other LEDs people have tried:

Yes - he had these installed for 1+ years with no issues:

Sometimes even after everything we say you have to see it in person to see the difference between our LEDs and competitors:

All of our LEDs are a clean white color temperature - sometimes more than we can say from stock LEDs from factory:

We had customers contact us about the Philips LED we compared (compared philips 921/194 wedge vs ours) we assumed they were using the same one but under different names - they came no where near our brightness. We feel this sums up what we always see, people are buying bulk LEDs and selling them - that is why you will see many interior LED kits for $15 come with 20 194/921 wedges that all look the same - in our kit each LED (even if they are 194/921) will look different depending on where they are being installed (puddle/trunk/glove box/dome lights):

And yes we do feel this can sort of be seen as 'tacky' but when we see this post we want to share everything we see.

Let us know if you have any questions.

    Thank you

yup, ended up getting my kit from you guys the day I posted this. However, Canadian Customs has held onto it for a lot longer than expected and I still haven't received them. :( Not your guy's fault at all, but still sucks! lol

FWIW...I got some CANBUS LEDs from superbright and they threw codes. They were supposed to be plug and play, error free. I ended up returning them.

haha, my Deautokey shipment just arrived in hand 2 minutes ago. The scan updates from Montreal to delivery all came through at once after I signed for delivery. stupid Canada Post. $19 customs fee... thank god they don't ship UPS because it would have been $50!

Thanks for the update, we were about to ask what shipping method you chose, normally priority mail arrives quickly, we try to use the least expensive method for our Canada and overseas customers - we dislike these high shipping fees most of all as we rather you spend it on LEDs of course. :)

This is common as not all CANBUS LEDs are created equal, there is many different setups you can have on a LED to eliminate errors and what we do is test the correct setup - you can ask the audizine members who tested our 194/921 reverse LEDs for the q5 - they each received 3 different models and they all looked identical but only 1 didn't cause errors - that is the one we started producing and selling.

We feel SBL is a good company - just look at their website, they have kitchen, warehouse, and outdoor lighting so we know their main focus is probably (assuming) not automotive lighting, while our only focus is automotive lighting. And if you start to compare pricing we are a lot less money on many LEDs and LED kits.

We appreciate the support from the forum - please let us know if you have any questions, we love to help our customers!

We should mention that we had a very humble beginning - when we first started posting on the forums many accused us of selling penny LEDs from alibaba for an extreme markup - it was only after the first year where people would buy other LEDs and receive errors and then try our LEDs and receive NO errors that they realized we are actually producing, testing and making our LEDs to our specs.

Don't take it the wrong way but by model is useless on the website. Make peoples life easy and list what is available for each model. (B7, B8 B8.5) If not on the website, do it in the forums.
I always upgrade but after a year I just don't feel like figuring out what's what.

I bought mine off ebay for around $20.00. No issues at all, easy installation.

Thanks for the suggestion the deAutoLED new website coming out later is going to be much easier and better to browse but right now if you want something you go to your car model for example:
    http://deautokey.com/category/shop-b...8-5-b9-allroad

And then within that listing you can find the B8 S4 for example:
    http://deautokey.com/product/audi-b8...ite-error-free

And our website has limitations so we cannot list every single bulb for each model - we don't have the listing capacity on this site so you can look up the bulbs you need and then buy them from the universal listings also:
    http://deautokey.com/bulb-guide

    Universal Listing:
    http://deautokey.com/category/shop-b...ll-years-trims

But we know our customers deserve better and we are working on a new site that will compete with amazon functionality and brows-ability.

incredible. I was kinda... meh when I installed them yesterday. but it was still daylight outside. they looked nicer, but couldnt see the light pattern too much. Get in this morning... wow what an incredible difference. The quality of light is so much nicer and it makes the cab feel more open and free. the install was super quick and easy, did it inside of 15 minutes. This has become a must have upgrade in my opinion.

Great feedback, this is common, we feel you have to see it in person to understand how much it changes your car. Many see LEDs as the last mod but it should be the first on your car.

    sent an email this morning, but will try here also ;

have you tried using your LED H7 into a cornering light for ADS headlight ? I understand a HID won,t work because it takes too much time to warm up and doesn't fade like halogen, but what about LED ?

I'm told these bulb go out every now and then. so instead of dropping 35$ everytime, i would rather spend 100$ and be done with it lol

Our H7 LED has an instant on/off - we cannot say 100% as we never tried it in your car but these fit and work great in the MK7 cornering lights and are bright:
