Audi A5 to RS5 widebody build / conversion replica

I've decided to move from an A4 to the A5. I've done a few rs4 conversions so thought I'd take on a new challenge.

That would be incredible! Really looking forward seeing your future posts. I'm thinking to do the same to the front of my S5 because rs5 bumper doesn't look good with s5 fenders and the rear quarter panels are too expensive

Upload pictures to 3rd party site such as photobucket, paste image URL into post. Same way you did for the link you provided I guess.

just a question - with all that work, effort, time, and money - why not just buy a real rs5?

    Brilliant work, well done

Turbo diesel RS5's are the future, all that torque will make for a good looking and good driving car.

I have a full set of RS5 wave rotors and calipers (front and rear) if you want to go the whole way with the look. They have 3000 miles on them so almost brand new.

This car is probably going to cost about a 5th of what the real thing costs and a lot less to maintain and run.
But for me its not the money, I do it as a hobby.

Exactly, I read about this last year, it out performs the current RS5 in just about everything except sound.

I call BS on this. I hope you started with a salvage title vehicle, cause its now worth a 5th of the cost of your donor A5. Cool for a hobby and props to you for your effort and commitment.

Looks like a legit B8 RS5 can be had in the UK for £25,000-30,000 ? A5s from similar year and mileage are ~1/3 of that. So even assuming some awesome discounts on parts and doing a lot of the work yourself, I don't see this getting done for less than half of what an RS5 would be. Even 1/5 of a brand new one is wildly optimistic. You can't really compare new vs used. Regardless of that, you'll end up with a car that barely has half the power and none of the other goodies. Brakes, suspension, seats, etc.

Gotta appreciate a true "build" thread as opposed to the typical wrap/wheels/exhaust threads that some try to pass off as a "build". Those should be called "accessory" threads. Kudos to our friends across the pond, they seem to be more inclined to break these cars down and build them back up than us ugly Americans. Wish I had the know how to do something like this...great hobby!

+1 jkwonz. You other armchair generals with your "wheelz" and your "exhausts" make me laugh. This is a real build. Dope work @adeelkhan323, can't wait to see the thing when it's finished. Which badges will you add to the final build?

Thanks, I'm not sure yet. I might leave it de-badged unless I can find a RS-D badge LOL.

Different opinion = hater. Uhh, ok.

He's the one who called it a 'replica', not us. It's right there in the thread title. Let us know when the V8 and the 7 speed trans get dropped in.

It'd make more sense to me if he was creating something new, or trying to build a car that's not available in his market. I really liked it when people would do Evo 4/5/6 conversions to old Mirages, because they weren't available in the US. At least those included the powertrain to go with the looks.

I respect well executed fabrication. But I have a hard time wrapping my head around redundant effort. The car he's mimmicking is easily available. I don't get it.

Thanks All. I've put all the pics on youtube as a lot quicker than putting hundreds of them on here. So feel free to have a look.

Search Dels Audi A5 to RS5

I'm working on putting everything back together now.

Will probably need someones help when I get round to the front and rear light conversion.

I've got the facelift front and rear lights so will need to code them.

Also need to get the rear spoiler working, not sure how yet !!!!
