    Quattro Rear end clunky?

ive had other awd vehicles before, but this car since ive owned it 5+ years now, there seems to be a slight clunk coming from the rear end to which I can only this that is the rear end diff. Its only noticeable when taking off from a complete stop and sometimes goes into 2nd gear. I can feel it as well not only hear it. Im wondering if this normal or typical for the Audi Quattro awd system? It is concerning and sometimes annoying, but just want to make sure my rear end is not going out.

Most likely it's the front upper diff mount, upgrade with a poly mount to eliminate the sound for good. Akipol is a good option but it's not cheap

Hopefully your culprit is the mount/bushes. I picked up a used diff and rebuilt it to throw in as my factory rear diff has way too much backlash.

I got the powerflex race bushing. Much cheaper than the other stuff. No increase in nvh

You don't mean the kind of.. Low frequency noise/feel you get when turning full lock at low speed, right? That's just the crab-walk noise, normal on all the quattro I've had.

Yes, almost like that noise but I get it more when just taking off from dead stop and going straight.

Could be the trans mount, nose mount, engine mounts.... Control arms.

Audi's Quattro system is second to none. I've seen maybe 3 differs replaced in 10 years for noises.... And every single one didn't fix the problem. 99% sure your problem lay elsewhere
