    Trunk unlocking

I have searched on multiple forums and have not found an answer.

When i first got my(new to me) A4 the trunk would lock and unlock with the doors. Now I have to either release the trunk from the drivers door latch or use the remote. At no time am I able to open the trunk by lifting it and pushing the release above the license plate.

I do not know what is different or what I did to disable this. I have looked through the manual, lock settings in console and even tried to fix this through Carista but no luck.

I just want the trunk to unlock when my doors unlock and stay unlocked if my doors also stay unlocked.

    Any ideas?

    Thanks
    Tim

Sounds like the central locking option in your MMI/AMI has been disabled for your trunk. I am not with my B8 to confirm the menus, but it should be Car > Central Locking > Trunk

agree with this, but also not near the car to check.

I had the same issue when I got my S4.....my recollection is that I had to change the MMI selection...but the menu choice labels seemed backwards.....

It's a long shot, but make sure valet mode is also turned off. IIRC trunk unlocking is disabled in valet mode.

^ what he said. Sounds like the Valet button in the glove box got activated. Press it again to disable if the light on that button is on.

Thanks. It was the setting in the MMI. I had to set trunk locking to off in central locking. That does seem backwards.
