Is it safe to run a 235/35/19 or 245/35/19

Is it possible to run this size tire on 19x9.5 wheels? From research the 235/35/19 has a 91y load rating and 245/35/19 has a 93y load rating. Manufacturer states 96y I believe. Anybody ever run these sizes?

I am currently running a 245/30/20 until I can get my 255/30/20's installed. I have had no issues at all. They are a little thinner but they are within spec of acceptable according to tire rack's site.

Since you have 20's the load rating is greater. 245/30/20 is probably around 95y or up for load rating which is within spec.

Definitely would not run 91 loading rating. That's just asking for trouble. Also why would try to downsize a tire and upsize wheel width at the same time? Most here go with wider meatier tires. You've got some room to play on that RS4 widebody....

    +1.

And, why would you want to downsize from stock? Especially with the extra power you're making!

    This.

I wouldn't run a 91 load rating with any B6/7 car unless I am the only thing in the car and probably not on public roads. There is no point in downsizing the tires onto wider wheels. Go smaller overall or go bigger. Kind of like go big or go home.

Keep in mind that your speedo will be wrong too with incorrect sized tyres. With a 235/35/19 instead of 255/35/19 it'll be off by 2.2%

And your tyres will be pretty stretched...

So, as others have asked......why would you do this?

Yes. After some research I will stay within spec. I have some wheels that I'm tempted to fit but need a low profile tire to bring the sexy out.

yes you will be totally fine with those sizes. 235/35 on a 9.5 is a mild stretch. nothing crazy and you can still rip it through the twisties confidently.

Run a little higher psi though like 42-44psi

Not worried about the stretch. It's the load rating of the tire that's available that I was concerned about. So far I only found one other person run that size.
