APR Stage 2 tune exacerbated rasp at WOT

Is it typical to hear a lot more rasp from the engine and exhaust with a stage 2 tune? It may be my OCD, but I feel like with the my ECS intake and the stage 2 tune, there are a lot more weird noises I never noticed under the hood.

At WOT, especially in low RPM 3-4.5k rpm, I get some significant rasp in the exhaust. Even more so if the car is not fully warmed up yet. I also feel like the intake at any RPM if I open it up has a significant hiss. Almost like the filter is limiting the airflow.

Are these normal sounds and I'm crazy?

I almost want to go back to my stock airbox because these noises are making me nuts. Lol.

Laugh at me, tell me I'm nuts, tell me it's normal, say that my description sucks.... I can take it.

I get the hiss of the intake more with stage 2. Also, since the supercharger is spinning more and making more boost it is also louder. I like it.

I'm stock exhaust and haven't heard a change in exhaust note. I get too intoxicated on the supercharger whine to notice.

EDIT: The stock exhaust under WOT has a bit of a rasp. This was on my previous S4 with stock exhaust on a 6-spd manual.

you'll definitely get more super charger whine with stage2. I don't think I noticed added exhuast rasp, but the engine note changes a little.

Been stage 2 for a few weeks only thing I notices was a change in the noise of the SC. Have not noticed any real change in the exhaust note.

The engine is moving more air so it's possible there is some small change. I just haven't noticed it.

This is more or less what I'm hearing. Mine is a bit more tinny though, at least from inside the cabin.

    Sounds like this is normal.

My wife made me laugh the other day because she said it sounds like my car sneezes now between gears. I think it's either the bypass valve releasing the pressure or the intake manifold flap closing, but now I've taken to saying God bless you to my car between high rpm shifts.....

I'm also considering the possibility that the exhaust was always this way, I'm just driving the car a lot harder now because I'm really enjoying the low end torque that didn't exist before, and you're right the engine is working harder at lower RPMs because of the additional boost so of course that will translate to more exhaust pressure.

Since I drive mostly backroads to a train station and home again (NYC commuter) I only get a few miles of "fun". Most of my pulls are between a handful of traffic lights and one nice long windy backroad where I can really dig into and accelerate out of the corners. I'm really making the most of the low end torque from the stage 2 tune.

    i think this ^

more airflow through a certain shape change in the pipe could cause rasp. could be wrong, but there is a pattern here
