Hello everyone,
I tried to find someone with a problem similar to mine, but found none really identical.
First, my car: 2003 Audi A4 B6 1.8T.
The problem:
A while ago the power window on the driver side stopped working. It was working fine, I parked the car and a few hours later it simply wouldn't open. There are no sounds whatsoever.
Later, I realized that the all power windows on the other 3 doors were not working as well, but only when using the single switch on that specific door. Those 3 windows still work as of today from the master switch on the driver side. Again, there are no sounds (click, buzz, etc) when I try to open the window from the switch on the door.
Another problem, don't know if related: the sunroof almost doesn't work. Sometimes it opens, but usually won't close or would close partially.
So far I did this:
-Check ALL fuses in the box on the left of the steering wheel (are there any other?) - they're all fine. Strange thing though: the power windows work when opened/closed from the master switch even with fuses 22 and 23 (front and back doors) pulled out. ???
-Check switches. They all work. I changed all of them anyway, the old ones had quite some wear.
-Door wires visual inspection. They all look like new. I tried to move them around while pushing on the switch, nothing happens. Again: 3 out of 4 windows work when opened/closed from the master switch, but not from the switches on those doors, so the wiring is good on at least those 3 doors.
I found a similar case and one of the proposed solutions was to change the comfort control module, but there was no follow-up. What does this module control exactly? Could a fault in this module also explain the sunroof problems?
I can give you more info if needed, just ask! Thanks!
