Brilliant, superb and extremely competent car! Well done Audi!

Fantastic chassis and suspension with a wonderful engine mated to a great DSG transmission. The brakes are powerful and fade free although I'll admit I did not track it for 30 minutes straight at 10/10th.

Very little understeer, very neutral and very benign behavior even with the ESP/traction control completely selected to "OFF" and pushed to its limits.

One thing is for sure this car is way better in the handling than all previous A4s and so are the brakes.

Considering the stock brake fluid, stock brake pads, stock S-Line suspension the car did extremely well on this track. The head instructor had the chance to follow me in his race car and he couldn't believe just how well the car handled the course/track.

Another one driving his 1M that also followed me for a while was very impressed by the handling and how it just accelerated out of the corners.

The first thing that went when pushed hard for several laps were the tires as they got greasy when hot but that's totally understandable.

    I'm very happy with it.

From everything I have read so far, it is a great chassis, the weight loss especially. Audi has been excited about it for a very long time, and of course when you are sharing it with Porsche through their line-up, you know it's got to be good!

The B5 was great, but because of the engine placement, it was always so nose heavy. Now that the B8/B9 is a much larger car, you can put the engine more comfortably over / behind the front axle.

I will admit the B8 chassis felt great, but it was 'solid' and heavy on the road. Haven't taken the B9 for a spin, but the more and more I think about it, I still might skip the S4 in favor of the A4 6MT when it is available + black optics. The straight line power is nice, but the inline and APR or GIAC Stage II+ is all I will need, the current car is a bit excessive...

I saw APR's new tune at 314/388 at the crank. Either way, still beats the 252!!

Another thing I don't like about the new A4 is the electric steering. Feels great when you don't need to feel the road. But when you do, it is too vague for smooth transitions going into/out of curves. My 2010 Acura TSX had electric steering too. But the two cars since were both sports cars with traditional hydraulic steering systems so that muscle memory was completely spoiled by a 370Z and 911. The adjustment back to electric has been more difficult than I thought it would be and I'm still adjusting after almost 5k miles.

The ONLY other gripe I have is power. I understand the fight for economy and I suppose it is just an A4 so that's what most people expect. But for the weight of this car, tune it for the S3 specs from the factory and call it a day. I would have bought the S3 but I wasn't a fan of the seats and the mag-ride suspension is noisy as shit. Other than that it was really fun to drive. More so than the A4. But at the end of the day I needed a solid daily driver. And here we are.

What do you mean? The seats - do you mean the super sport seats? Or the regular sport seats? - which I agree is pretty cheap. In Canada anyway mag ride is optional

Anyone identified available track pads for the B9?
