I'm very curious to drive one to compare to the P85D (which currently is a 10/10 with 4k miles and coming off lease next year...) I've driven and my S6.

I'd also be curious what all in pricing looks like with the upgrade package for the 85 coming off lease.

Tesla needs to hire a few engineers from Audi and learn how to build a real luxury interior.

Agree, also I can't wait for someone to post a video of Stage 2 RS7 vs P100D, I think we are still few month away for this.

The interior is plain yes and I see why people are turned off by it, however if you understand the main reasoning for why it is (weight savings) then you can kind of look pass it and enjoy the 1000 other reasons why it's one of the best on the road today. With that being said, I hope they revamp the interior soon.

I don't follow Tesla much, but is weight savings really the reason for the unimpressive interior? This car weighs well over 4,000 lbs IIRC and has more torque than anything ever to hit the street - I wouldn't have thought weight savings was that high on the priority list. There is nothing else that can touch it in 0-60 times - or perhaps even 1/4 miles stock vs. stock. What's another 100 lbs to have it look like a 140k vehicle inside?

The Tesla will get him off the line only to be run down on the top end. This assumes the Tesla has traction - 2.5 is a mean zero to sixty

+1 on that! The one thing that really turned me and my wife off was the Tesla interior. So happy with our A7, no regrets at all. But if Tesla can build a car with an interior on par with Audi, I'd have to have one.

They have added Model S' to the taxi fleet in Amsterdam, and I grabbed one from the airport to my hotel during my last visit there. Not sure if the interiors on the ones they were using were unusually sparse, but I definitely found it lacking. The resolution on that center screen looked ok from my view in the backseat, but the whole thing reeked of a lack of thought behind the design and implementation. Seats weren't all that comfortable either. Even on what was presumably the cheapest way to spec a Model S, though, the acceleration was impressive. If Audi could package that kind of electric speed and delivery into its lineup, that would be spectacular. 300 mile range would probably be more than enough for me for 90% of my driving.

We just returned from a 2,000 mile road trip and early on, a Tesla passed us. Great looking car, but it got me thinking what our trip would look like in one. With all of the stops for juice, time needed to charge and possible detours to find a Supercharger just not for me. At this time I'd want more flexibility from a $100k car. Maybe down the road....

Really well on my Tesla Model S test drive. Battery is all in the floor, so CG is super low, suspension is really good. Again, if it weren't for the uncomfortable interior, I'd be driving a model S instead of my A7 right now.

It's fast as hell, saves you a ton of money on gas, and in the grand scheme of things covers the average daily miles driven of just about most people. I can probably count on one hand the number of 200+ miles trips I've done in the last 12 months. I imagine that with my daily commute of roughly 60 miles roundtrip, I could probably live in insane or whatever mode they are calling it every day. Electric is the way of the future. Just a matter of time.

My concern with a car like that - and the Model S is fun as shit to drive - is sitting in the middle of that crazy EM field for hours and hours on end. It's as bad as having a cell phone to your ear, in your router's WiFi radius, with bluetooth on. Eventually that will catch up with people.

Everyone has a different situation. I do 1-2 200+ mile trips per month and stopping at a supercharger for however long to charge up would drive me nuts.

Rgr. Definitely wouldn't work for me in that situation but eventually the batter tech will get to a point where the mileage is truly a non-issue.

Nobody yet has mentioned the sound (lack of). One of my favorite things to do when driving my new car is listen to the growls, pops, etc. of the engine and exhaust. It sounds awesome! One of Tesla's biggest weaknesses I think.

It's all subjective , like saying I like big city noise over suburban quietness. I know a lot of people that like the latter, both good but has it's own purpose and subjective. I have a deep tone exhaust (AWE S6 and Capristo in Lambo) but also like the "lack" of noise in the Tesla when I'm in the mood.

Yeah, in that case you definitely want to drive a Corvette or maybe a Challenger Hellcat or something along those lines for a lot less money. But having moved from a Subaru STi (which I really enjoyed the "noisiness" of) to the A7 TDI, the exhaust/engine/intake note is not a concern for me. On the contrary for this type of car (again, one guy's opinion), the quiet in the cabin is a huge part of the experience for me. And you can't get much quieter than electric motors.

The lack of sound is certainly an issue as well. But for me, driving that EM cancer wagon all over town is No Bueno Gigante.

I like the looks too. They are a more common site these days and not so unique but still good looking IMO.
