One of the upsides of being a TDi owner...

...besides the obvious power, torque and efficiency, is the TDi Customer Goodwill Package. Used ours today (both cards) to pay for all but $99 of the AudiCare Select package covering the 55K and 65K services for my S6. Score!

And while the sh*tstorm continues to fly, we'll continue to enjoy every minute in our Q5, patiently waiting for resolution of the bigger issues.

Used mine last month towards buyout of the Q5 at end of lease.

Yes, I agree with the OP. I have a VW TDI which is included in the emissions issue which to me is "so what?" I couldn't care less that VW fooled the EPA for years.

The buyback offer from VW was so attractive I decided to let VW buy back my VW TDI and replace it with . . . another TDI!

I just bought an Audi Q5 TDI.

My wife has a TDI Passat and wants to replace it with an Audi TDI. She's offered many times to take my Q5 and give me the Passat. We'll probably buy another Q5 or a Q7.

Your wife must know a lot about cars. I liked my VW Jetta Sportwagen TDI but it was not in the same league as an Audi TDI.

She had a Sportwagen TDI before the Passat TDI. She likes the power that the Q5 has. She thought her Passat was quick until she drove the Q5 with the tune. Now she complains about her car being slow.

I love my Q5 TDI but this emissions scandal is dragging on way, way too long. For instance, I really want to tint the windows and upgrade the sound system (as well as few other upgrades) but it doesn't make any sense to do so when there is such a strong possibility it will be bought back. In hindsight, receiving credit to partially cover my 35k service isn't much of a consolation.

The $500 Visa card would cover the cost of tinting the windows...

Even if the proposed buyout is not enticing, there's nothing wrong with keeping it. I don't think they will be hard to sell either, doubt most people bought them for their environmental friendliness to begin with.

We got the Q5 after a 15 min drive of our friend's car. I cross-shopped no other vehicles. It was the right size, and the engine sold me. Lease was due last month, and the only problem was I couldn't CPO it due to the ongoing recall. Realistically there was nothing to replace it with, what SUV can you get 0-3 years old, fully loaded for $30k Canadian ($23000 USD) that has similar power, mileage, and options.

Looks even better now after SQ5 wheels and CQuartz; zero regrets. My brother will take his Jetta TDI cash and put it towards a Cayman.

My wife has been looking for a replacement for her Passat. I've been looking on Autotrader and haven't seen any TDI S-Line Q5's. I purchased mine in Oct 2015 and it was the only one I could find.

A dealer in the San Diego area had a white one listed for sale two weeks ago on cars.com or autotrader.com. Don't remember which. It was one of the cars I reviewed and considered. It was either a former service loaner leased by the dealer to the dealer or a low miles trade.
