Even if the proposed buyout is not enticing, there's nothing wrong with keeping it. I don't think they will be hard to sell either, doubt most people bought them for their environmental friendliness to begin with.
We got the Q5 after a 15 min drive of our friend's car. I cross-shopped no other vehicles. It was the right size, and the engine sold me. Lease was due last month, and the only problem was I couldn't CPO it due to the ongoing recall. Realistically there was nothing to replace it with, what SUV can you get 0-3 years old, fully loaded for $30k Canadian ($23000 USD) that has similar power, mileage, and options.
Looks even better now after SQ5 wheels and CQuartz; zero regrets. My brother will take his Jetta TDI cash and put it towards a Cayman.
