    B8 S4 Brakes and Rotors

I checked the search before I posted this and didnt come up with much recent info on this aside from a couple posts a few years old.
If I missed something, I apologize for the repost.

    I picked up a B8 S4 about 2 years ago after having 2 B5's.
Just did the 55k maintenance check and going to need brakes and rotors within the next few months.

Was hoping to get an idea where to look for rotors and pads.
For both my B5's I used Adams rotors and Hawk pads.
While Im still having fun in the B8, Im not driving it like my B5's so I wasnt sure if there was some different options out there that were performance based and less expensive.

I checked out ECS and found the below rotors which I know nothing out.

Any recommendations on where to go for quality rotors and pads that may not be as performance based or as expensive as Hawk pads or Adams rotors.

    Thanks for the help.

I did meyle rotors and Akebono pads all around for around $400 in parts. Not necessarily a performance upgrade, but it performs just as good as oem, no squeal, and no dust!

    Kinda off topic but related:

I just did my 25k miles maintenance and the dealer told me I need to change all my brakes (pads and rotors) soon. I was wondering is it normal to change the rotors at less than 25k miles? I understand the brake pads need replacement but it seems premature for the rotors. I don't track or drive hard and my S4 is my daily driver. They quoted me over $1500 CAD for a pair of front brakes/rotors. If the rotors are fine can I just replace the pads?

I would be happy to present a few options for you as far as replacement braking components for your S4. Shoot me an e-mail: [email protected]

brakes are not really about how many miles on the car but your actual braking style. Only way to tell if you need new pads/rotors would be to inspect the pad for wear, and inspect the rotor for min thickness.

could be 100% possible you need new pads and rotors, could be 100% possible all 4 corners are fine, impossible to tell without inspection tho.

At 25k, I would consider a second opinion, but it's not unreasonable if you are city driving or live maybe at the top of a hill or something.
